kurt russell will never be touched, he's the most underated actor of all time.. josh brolin is great, dont get me wrong, i just dont think its a good idea to remake this right now. space some of this shit out a bit, you dont have to remake all the great shit from 70s and 80s right this minute...

I liked the original, but what I'm wondering is, What does "Escape from New York" have to do with Horror ??? Wouldn't you classify that as an action adventure with a pinch of Sci Fi ?

Josh Brolin's closest example to Snake is in Planet Terror. Cold, collected... he'll make an excellent Plisskin. Don't believe me? Watch No Country for Old Men a couple of times and tell me he doesn't have it in him.

Len Wiseman walking away from the project could hardly be called a "turn for the worse", unless one has an unabashed love for crap.

Brolin has the B-movie chops to do this and make it his own.At least it might wash away the unpleasant aftertaste from Escape From LA.

It sounds just fine to me. Brolin certainly has it. I know a lot of people are still sentimental about Kurt Russell and rightly so, but this is a "remake" not a "sequel." And just how badly do you honestly think Kurt Russel would want to make a movie he's already made? Besides, aren't there other great "original" movies the same time and money could be spent on?
