On the heels of the success of THE STRANGERS, Overture Films has acquired a pitch from Karl Gajdusek ("Dead Like Me") called Taken, with veteran producer Irwin Winkler attached to produce. The project is a dramatic thriller in which a married couple that has been coping with infidelity and other adversity heals its wounds after a home invasion; it is described as containing elements of "Panic Room" and "Unfaithful." FUNNY GAMES was also a recent home invasion movie to do moderately well.
No, it doesn't sound bad, but Hollywood really needs to start coming up with originality! I mean seriously, how many more freaking home invasion movies can they do!
