Today Summit Entertainment released a pretty badass widget for their upcoming teen-vampire thriller Twilight, which can be found inside. The widget features new photos and three clips from the film directed by Catherine Hardwicke. The film is about a high school girl named Bella falls in love with a vampire. The new couple leads a rival vampire clan to pursue them and attempt to force her to decide if she, too, wishes to become one of the undead.
Great a vampiric Romeo and Juliet, how freaking original! Underworld 1 and 2 handled this story much better. Pretty soon they will make a film about a giant radioactive mummy from the center of the earth from an alternate dimension and a sort cute teen girl who's forbin love is oppossed by Hillary Clinton's cyborg feminist zombie millitia!
Based on a book? Wow thats changes everything! Different...a vampire and a human fall in love, chaos erupts, this new flick same thing, yawn... Now if you had a bunch of radical right wing christians chasing the vamp and girl that would be a bit different, nobody's tried something like that yet, alienate the monster for a change, makes them seem more monsterous and if done right also sympathetic.
This doesn't look very good. I honestly think the vampire genre has become incredibly tiring over the years, and this doesn't really look like the movie that could bounce it back.
Your user name is Prom Night 2008, and yet you say THIS doesn't look good? Weird...
Anyways, the book series are really good, and the movie(s) are going to be awesome. Kristen Stewart is one of my favorite actresses.
No, the Prom Night remake wasn't good either. I'll readily admit that. I assumed this name when I thought it may actually be a good remake (of one of my favorite slashers from the 80's, might I add). And, I still say this looks god-awful.
I'm 14, and like most teenagers I read ths book... They were good, but not as good as everyone says. I think this movie looks really good though, although instead of a human falling in love with a vampire, they should do like a vampire and werewolf falling in love. Then that would be more of a fantasy Romeo and Juliet.
the books are awesome, but i still cant picture everything as a movie. iknow for a fact, however, that so many people will shit on this movie because theyr gunna go in expecting a hardcore vampire movie, and IT IS NOT. its a teenage vampire/human love story.
Why can't they make really scary stuff for the twerps? Instead we get a watered down vampiric James Dean looking shi-shi boy trying to tepidly romance a little junior high school girl...Thrilling stuff indeed. When I was a teen we had the real Friday The 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street, ect...
If it's a love story, why do vampires need to be involved? You need to be careful when using something with as much baggage as the word vampire; it's almost impossible to do without seeming like a rip-off of something else. I don't find myself getting excited about this, or any other movie that makes vampires "cool" or "hip".
I think this movie is going to be good. As far as the concept goes, I think it's pretty original (as far as vamp movies go) in that it's very human, and it's not as if the vampires aren't struggling either; they all have their inner demons (you don‘t even KNOW, seriously). You'd have to read the book to really understand, then again, most of you probably wouldn't want to since you'd be expecting true horror, and this is a romance (Just don't watch it then, cause no matter what, you're going to be disappointed. Only watch it if you truly understand what it's about...and accept it).
Adore the books.
Although as it's been said, they're terribly cliche.
I think the movies going to be a HUGE dissapointment.
I don't reccomend skipping the books to watch the movie at all, because I'm fairly sure the movie wont do the books any justice at all.
