Today the first official still was posted from Pathe's The Descent 2, which stars Douglas Hodge, Krysten Cummings, MyAnna Buring, Alex Reid, Saskia Mulder and Nora-Jane Noone. Directed by Jon Harris, the sequel will continue the story of Sarah, who as the only survivor of an all-female caving expedition gone horrifically wrong, suffers severe psychological trauma. Unable to speak, she accompanies a rescue team back to the cave, but events once again take a sinister turn. Read on for a look at one of the monsters from the sequel.

I absolutely loved the first film, I can't wait for the second one.

I am so excited. I loved the first film, and the creatures in this film seem more devilish and creepy than the first ones, but hopefully the sequel can compare to the first one.

I can't friggin wait for this sequel. The first one was one of the best horror movies I have seen in recent years!!!

The only problem with this film is to some, it may taint the original film. The ending of the unrated cut was so poignant. Why screw it up? Why make a sequel?

i'm so freaking psyched! it sounds like this will be gorier (if that's possible!) and more intense than the original (again, if that's possible! LOL). i can't wait!!

I liked the first, and just by the look of the picture, it looks like I'll at least mildly enjoy the new one.

I loved the first. The claustrophobic feeling carried so well to the screen. Horror movies rarely scare me, but this one got my heart going. I hope the sequal can match that.

Wow, heavy lighting. So they aren't gonna be creepin' around in the shadows this time?

I Hope Its Alot Better Them The First One. It Just Reminded Me Of The Cave Without The Flying Monsters.

The first one was way too cliche and predictable. I don't think the lame cave-dweller design looks too much better than the lame last one, either. You've seen one monster you've seen them all.

the first one had some good parts but i saw it on sale for 3.99 and still walked right by it.

thats such a sequel storyline the survivor leads them in haha, wow. Like she would after the events of the last.

Give me a FUCKING BREAK! If she's so psychologically damaged that she can't even speak, then they would have taken her to a HOSPITAL! NO WAY would she be even allowed to take them down into the caves! LMAO! This is the stupidest sequel plot I've ever heard of.

Apparently you haven't heard the plot of I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Predator 2, Scream 3 or Matrix Revolutions

part 1 was awesome, allthough I have only seen the eruopean cut, not the american, so for me she actually died . *confused* But indeed one of the scariest movies in the last few years! Can't wait for this!

Yeah she's so psychologically traumatised she goes back to the cave.Give me a break.Loved the first one,you know, the one she died in.This is a sequel to avoid if you dont want your love of the first one to be tainted.
