Hot out of this year's Cannes film market the hype for the French horror film Martyrs continues. Word has it that this film is as brutal as INSIDE, only not as fun. The pictures we released here were a nice tease, then the Cannes promo trailer gave us the heebie-jeebies; now, two brand new theatrical teasers were posted online via Twitch Film, both of which can be found inside. Directed by Pascal Laugier, the film is the story of a girl who emerges from a yearlong abduction and forms a bond with another girl while in recovery. Read on for the two trailers.
these are TERRIBLE compared to the sales(?) trailer from Cannes that was linked last week(?). these don't show you anything about the film. the trailer from last week was incredible! i can't wait to see this, but these teasers stink IMO.
it doesnt look that great IMO. inside was badass and i enjoyed haute tension but BD youre giving the french way too much credit. Frontieres was not nearly as good as you made it out to be. In fact that was prbly the biggest overhyped piece of garbage i have ever seen. this looks to me like its going to be another frontieres.
Well, since "Frontier(s)" ended up not only being a disappointment, but a terribly bad film no matter how you cut it (seriously, someone try and defend that garbage logically. I'll meet you in a fair debate), I'm not getting my hopes up and keeping my guard.
just because it's a french film, don't mean it's gonna be good - the only decent horror to come out of that country in the last few years has been HAUTE TENSION - ll the rest, including the ridiculous INSIDE are garbage.
Don't get sucked into the hype on this shit fest either.
We seem to go through cultural overload regarding film production (i.e. Japanese horror), and the French are no exception. Haute Tension was my first French horror, and by far the best. Inside rocked pretty steady, but Frontiers was pretty bad; nonetheless, I will watch Martyrs in the hopes my lust for "realistic" scares is fulfilled!
I'm actually looking forward to this. I also agree that FRONTIERS was a bit disappointing but I already had a bad feeling about it. Thats why i rented it instead of blind buying it.
shows barley anything. i am waiting for a real trailer
