MyAnna Buring, Alex Reid, Saskia Mulder and Nora-Jane Noone will all be returning in The Descent 2, which is now filming London with Jon Harris behind the camera, according to Empire Online. The four stars are all returning from Neil Marshall's popular film that put a bunch of female thrill-seekers in an uncharted cave filled with creatures. The website reveals that the four stars will be returning in a flashback sequence and that the sequel picks up where the American version left off. Shauna MacDonald, Natalie Jackson Mendoza, Gavan O'Herlihy, Joshua Dallas, Anna Skellern, Douglas Hodge and Krysten Cummings were all previously cast.
That Natalie Mendoza is fucking beautiful. The rest of the cast requires some mild to heavy beer goggles. That aside; The Descent was a great movie. I hope they don't fuck up the sequel.
Spoiler Alet!!!
So Last Girl Did escape.... kinda ruins the original ending, although that ws the easier way for making a sequel, I pary they don't mess up the Now Classic...
I Have to stop posting drunk, sorry what I meant to say was:

Harris doesn't seem like that bad a choice for director. I was a bit nervous when I heard that Marshall wasn't directing, but Harris has edited alot of great UK films like Snatch and The Descent. I remember when I heard Boyle wasn't directing 28 Weeks Later, and what a huge mistake I thought that was.... Till I actually saw the movie. Let's hope lightning strikes twice.
As Saskia's character, "Rebecca", said to MyAnna's character, "Sam", when she was poking the dead elk: "Leave it alone!". The original should stand as is.
One of the things that was cool about the "Descent" was the atypical all-female cast. I hope they don't screw up the sequel with the usual assortment of action/horror tokens, e.g., the bad-ass yet noble black dude who makes cracks about black people never surviving these situations and (surprise!) doesn't survive (usually played by a rapper-turned-actor), the smart-ass who's constantly complaining about being there before saving everyone's ass in a last act of courageous self-sacrifice, the pretty boy who makes googly eyes at the female lead and always survives, the brainy geek dude who surprisingly survives... you get the idea.
