One of the best shows on TV is getting ready for a third season this fall and casting is underway for new addition. It was reported this evening that Jimmy Smits isn't straying far from Miami, signing on to join the cast of Showtime's hit serial killer drama DEXTER. Smits will star in ten of the 12 episodes greenlit for "Dexter's" third season. Show returns to the paycabler this fall. He is set to play the ambitious assistant district attorney who comes from a high-profile and powerful Miami family. On the show, a like-able Miami police forensics expert Dexter (Michael C. Hall) moonlights as a serial killer of criminals who he believes have escaped justice. Jennifer Carpenter (Exorcism of Emily Rose) also stars as Dexter's sis Debra.

This is easily the darkest show on television. It is also really funny while maintaining that darkness. I was addicted to the first two seasons and I can't wait for the third. Jimmy Smits should be a cool addition to the cast.

A friend of mine recommended me to Dexter during it's first season, but I didn't have (or want) Showtime. He kept badgering me about it, claiming I would love it...so when the firs season came out on DVD I bought it. In the first two days I watched the entire first season (it hooks you like heroin), and subscribed to Showtime so I could catch season two as it aired. I've read the books (which are nowhere near as great as the show, but still they are interesting reads) and I gotta say that I love this show more than anything I've seen since I can't remember. Everyone I've shown this series to have been instantly hooked onto it. Watch Dexter, you'll LOVE it. Definately a series you do not want to miss.

This is one of the BEST shows every created! I watch these on-demand all the time and it's enjoyable. Lots of suspense, blood, humor, and Jennifer Carpenter is pretty frigging hot. All around this show is what horror fans crave. Can't wait for the 3rd season!
