We broke the news back in February that a sequel to Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN was in the works. Now, only months after severing ways over the remake of HELLRAISER, it appears that the French directors of INSIDE, Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, have been approached by Dimension Films to direct Halloween 2, according to STYD. Bustillo and Maury are currently developing another new French thriller entitled SNOW, which could be put on the back burner if a deal is reached. We're digging for official confirmation as this should be taken as strictly rumor right now.
To each their own, but it seems like all you guys are asking for is blood and guts. Hell, if that is your standard then go watch a hundred other movies that give just that. I, for one, wouldn't really want to see Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury get caught up in the American remake machine. Whether you liked "Inside" or hated it, you gotta give it to them, these guys have talent.
i personally loved inside. we know a remake is coming, i mean take a look around the genre for christs sake, so bring it on. i would love a gore filled remake, maybe we can get a remake that isnt crap. speaking of remakes, is barker gonna have anything to do with hellraiser? and who else is involved?
Although a sequel may happen, there is no guarantee Michael Myers will be a part of the sequel. Albeit trying to make a sequel Myers-less today is far more risky than when Halloween III was made. Audiences are harder to empress these days.
It was inevitable. Someone will attempt a sequel. Just like the new Friday the 13th remake, you can bet on a sequel. Same with Elm Street. There is just too much of a profit to be made by the studios to leave it alone. They invest 20 million to make it and recoup the costs after the opening weekend. The rest that comes in is all profits.
I think that of all directors I can think of right now, they totally would be perfect to do a Halloween. INSIDE had a lot of gore, yes, but it also captured the same kind of suspense in Halloween. At least, I think so.
fuck it...why not...
am i slowly coming to terms with the sad fact that is horror "re-franchises"???
i want another TCM more than another halloween...to me the best part of the remake was the first half...
maybe with a new team behind it it'll be alright...
but i know i don't want to see another Halloween movie by Rob Zombie...
oh i would be so on-board for this if its real. i just want another halloween, i feel that the remake could have been better so i want part 2 to be superior to it.
Love Zombie, hated his Halloween.Upping the brutality at the expense of character development and pacing did nothing for me. I had hoped that it was the final nail in Michael Myers coffin, but sadly it looks like that isn't the case.
There's really no point in crying over remakes or their respective sequels anymore. That era of movie making is here, we just need to deal with it. All we can really do is hope the remakes or sequels don't totally suck and since Inside is one of the greatest movies EVER, I would love to see these two directors take on Halloween 2.
this is gayyy , i mean like if they make a halloween 2 its gonna be nothing like the old halloween 2 its gonna be anotheir trashy rip off lik rob zombies was , i mean i loved rob z halloween but dont you agree it was trashy i mean haddonfield is a small NICE town rob gaves us a taste of a trashy neighboor hood with a trashy taling slut nd a whore short person nd a blondd who thinks she getting stalked all the timee
Halloween 2007 was bad enough now there is going to be a sequel? DON'T RUIN H2. Seriously, don't let Rob Zombie near it, have a better writer, instead.
NO FUCKING ROB FUCKING ZOMBIE!!!! HE RUINED HALLOWEEN UCKING DICKHEAD!!!! WORST FUCKING REMAKE FUCKNIG EVER!!!! STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM FUCKING MOVIES AND GO BACK TO UR SHITASS RED NECK COUNTRY HICK MUSIC FUCKHEAD!!!
Don't sequel the remake. Stem off from the original film. 2 was such a drag out bore. The more I think about the original part 2 the more I realize that I only enjoy it because it takes place on the same night, and finally ends Myers reign.
I say you prolog the original flick. and you open up several years later and you ignore the Laurie Strode shit. She wasn't hsi sister in the original film. She became his sister in part 2. The family angle is lame! Let the events of the original become a bedtime story that everyone in Haddonfield nows about but no longer fears. Suddenly things start to happen, but we don't see the boogieman till the flicks is almost over. People are attacked in darkness. It's almost as if He is a ghost. You guy have got to see that this is the only real way to do this character justice. Call it Halloween: The Return.
Myers becomes the fog monster. And you don't have to explain it. Prolog the original as a scary tale told to the young, just as Bum in The Fog explained Blake and his Boys in the begining of that flick. Now the film is more abotu the town. Don't close in on any main characters. Focus on the town. If we get a main character make it a cop, and everyone else is just fodder to further the scares and increase the threat and scare factor.
I'm not saying he's the fog, but he is the force carpenter hinted at, at the end of the original film. Movie always try to explain why they come back. Don't do that. Just bring him back there doesnt have to be a reason. Laurie isn't his fucking sister if you ignore part 2. Dr Loomis is'nt involved, and no one should try to replace his role. It should be a story about a town that forgot. Who will soon be reminded why they shouldn't have.
And if your worried about the fans not liking this "ignore the sequel" too the original shit. Dont! Rob Zombie Ass fucked this franchise into the ground. Theres no choice. You should ignore his take. Bring it back to the fans. We will admire you for doing it. If you can pull it off. John couldn't think of anything to do with the myers character for part two so he told the same fucking story and he made Laurie his sister. He claimed to drink his way through the writing process. Myers became a force but the producers wouldnt allow carpenter to see that through. You guys can do this. Make him the force, for fuck sakes!
And don' try to explain it. Thats why all the fucking sequel fail. Cause myers rage is explained. He has a motis after 2- kill family members. Fuck that! Fuck That bullshit! Don;t explain how he returns, don't make him preoccupied with a group. this time no one is safe, and one guy is trying to solve and end it before more die. Thats all you need to do.
never seen inside and judging from what the people are saying about it i think i wil pass....rob allready rined the original halloween. we dont need no seuel. leave it alone. crud id rather see a story tied into haloween 6.
i think that it will be good to have micheal return, but please don't go with phantoms suggestion, It is always the story that counts. To have gore for gores sake, is retarded. I love the stories.

I like Phantoms idea.
It would need ironing out but the basic concept is the direction I'd like to see things go in.
I've always wanted them to develop John Carpenter's 1987 idea for H4 about having Michael Myers has a ghost and not a indestructable killing machine.
My only hope is that they keep Michael like a real human being and NOT what they did to him in the eighties sequels by making him burned, shot, stabbed a million times and he still keeps coming. Thats too much fantasy B.S. and not scary when you realize how impossible that is. Screw that !! Give me a REAL killer !!
dude please dnt let rob does thid one realy dnt let any1 THEY FINALLY FIND SOMETHING TO RUIN JUST FOR THE FUCKING MONEY i wish rob never made halloween i liked THE MIDDLE AND THE END OF HALLOWEEN the whole dam little micheal thing was bullshit JOHN CARPENTER made halloween so it would be scarey rob zs hallowen was one FUCK THIS FUCK THAT AND A PORNO SO WTF
It's gonna end up with copy cat serial killer or something stupid like that. Or a figmant of someone's imagination. Who knows. Good news is Rob zombie's out of the loop.
