Blu-ray.com reports today that Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring Tim Burton's claymation classic The Nightmare Before Christmas to Blu-ray on August 26th in a collector's edition form. No technical specs have been announced at this time, but you can expect the similar 1080p AVC and PCM treatment that Disney gives the majority of their titles. Extras for this release include: Audio commentary with Tim Burton, director Henry Selick and composer Danny Elfman, An original Tim Burton poem, narrated by Christopher Lee, A tour of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion ride, Behind-the-scenes look at the filming of Nightmare Before Christmas and Tim Burton's short film "Vincent". Both the Blu-ray and DVD release will also receive a digital copy of the film, which Disney is calling "DisneyFile". Exclusive to the Blu-ray release will be a introduction from Tim Burton.
Hey Mr. Disguisting, "Nightmare" is not a claymation classic - It's a stop motion animation classic. Gumby is claymation.
