The other day the first ever image from The Road hit the web, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, today the NY Times unloaded a few hi-res stills to check out. Read on to check out more pics of Viggo Mortensen in action. Dimension Films' adaptation centers on a man who embarks on a nightmarish road trip after a nuclear explosion in an attempt to transport his son to safety while fending off cannibals. The film is slated for release on November 26, 2008.

Sounds like it could be great. I've always thought that the apocalypse really doesn't need zombies in order to be frightening. To simply have virtually all the paradigms of living taken away without the prospect of their speedy reinstatement, not to mention the constant direct threat of murder to boot should be plenty frightening enough. And the book is proof that it in fact is.
Only boring if you're not able to think your way through a movie. If it's true to the book and not too Hollywood flashy, I think it could be great.
