This afternoon 20th Century Fox supplied us with two brand new "red-band internet trailers" for M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening, which features your first look at some of the extreme levels of gore that Shyamalan's first R-rated effort carries! The film arriving in theaters July 13 follows a couple who go on the run from an apocalyptic crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity. Wow,I've loved that shot of the people jumping since the first trailer. The people hanging from the trees looks so creepy. Looks like this movie might be pretty good!
Now I'm even more optimistic. Most of us know it will be more than just a slide show of violent images like so many of the other movies this genre throws at us, but a small part of me is a little concerned about whether the sequences between the violent images will be strong enough to back them up and unite them in a manner that is believable and satisfying. I enjoyed most of his previous movies, but I still haven't seen anyone in the business who has the Midas touch.
This movie looks awesome. Knowing M. Night, it'll be something like aliens sending mind signals and making people kill themselves so they can terraform Earth and make it inhabitable for themselves.
dude this looks awesome! the second one i liked better. that was messed up when he got sucked underneath the lawn mower! i so cant wait to see this one.
I'm having more and more faith that this will be good...Please be good.I was hoping John Leguizamo would survive, but it's looking like thats not going to happen now.
i'm so excited to see this. for me, the road of hanging corpses & the guy under the tractor thing are VERY disturbing. i've heard what causes everybody to kill themselves & i think it's a VERY original & cool idea. i hope others feel that way, too, but i've read posts on other sites where MANY people think the reason is "retarded & stupid". i guess we'll see.
The Gore makes this movie looks like it's watchable. But I know what "The Happening" actually is and it's one of those twists where you are kind of like...eh, I guess.
I really hope this turns out to be as good as it looks.
