Jeffrey Bell ("The X-Files", "Angel" and "Alias") has been tapped executive producer/showrunner on CBS' midseason series HARPER'S ISLAND, which is being retooled. The serialized horror drama, from CBS Paramount, is described as "Scream" meets "10 Little Indians" and revolves around a group of friends who are terrorized when they meet on an island off the Seattle coast for a destination wedding. Ari Schlossberg penned the pilot presentation, which was directed by Jon Turteltaub. Bell will now write the first episode and run the series, which is currently being recast.
