This morning Yahoo! Movies got the jump on MSN and posted the world premiere trailer for Rob Cohen and Universal Pictures' The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which hits theaters August 1. In addition, you'll find a ton of new stills from the film inside. In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick (Fraser) and Alex O'Connell (Ford) unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin (Li) -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard (Yeoh) centuries ago.
Weak trailer, but I am totally excited for this movie. They just tried to make it all, sweeping cinematics, breathtaking vistas and epic battles...but that really isn't what this franchise has been about. All I am saying is, I have WAY more faith in the movie than whoever made this trailer.
I have faith in the movie. I really enjoyed the first twom films, and hey I like Branden Fraser, he has that old cinamtic type acting. ANyway The old Mummy films (the universal classics) are some of my favorite films and suprisingly The Mummys Hand is my all time favorite( I saw it when I was six) and the new mummy films carry on the humor of that film and the more sense of adventure of that film. If you havent seen the Mummys Hand, give it a try and then look at how bif of a influence or how similar the themes are...in a sense.
Doesn't look too bad. It's going to take an ass kicking being released the same year as Indy though.
