Mark Pellington (The Mothman Prophecies, Arlington Road)has signed to direct Solace, a mystery thriller for New Line that once had Shekhar Kapur attached to helm. The story revolves around a former doctor with psychic abilities who is drawn into a serial killer case only to find that the killer also is a psychic, leading to a showdown between the two who can detect each other's every move. Sean Bailey and Ted Griffin wrote the initial script, which was revised by Jamie Vanderbilt ("Zodiac"). Bruce Willis was once attached to star in the film.
One franchise that appears to have been drilled in the ground is CHILD'S PLAY, which last saw Chucky on the big screen back in 2004 with the release of SEED OF CHUCKY. Nearly four years later, creator Don Mancini is hard at work penning the remake for the film (that he'll also direct), which kicked off back in 1988 with a killer who transfers his soul into the body of a Good Guy doll. We've broke a whole bunch of stories here on B-D, and today we had the chance to have a few more questions answered... like what will change in the remake, including Chucky's design. Today a blurb from "real" Ghostbuster Dan Ackroyd hit the web that carries a small glimpse of hope. Read on, watch, then speculate with the best of us... ...Read More

AMC discovered that "Star Trek" and "Lost" Producer Damon Lindelof is working on bringing Stephen King's DARK TOWER to life. "The Dark Tower is to me every bit as daunting an adaptation as the Lord of the Rings trilogy must have been for Peter Jackson, except we've got seven books we're looking at. And the idea of doing that at the same time Carlton and I are bringing Lost to a close is simply not viable. There are always Dark Tower conversations, but the figuring out of what this will look like as a movie has not begun. If The Dark Tower were in the right hands, I would love to see seven movies executed just right. But you have to get people to see the first one to get them to come and see the second one."
