We scored some pretty juicy Saw V bits from Lionsgate this afternoon starting with the final casting news for the film. We learned that Laura Gordon will play Ashley, Greg Bryk (Screamers 2, Shoot Em Up) will play Malick and Carlo Rota (Boondock Saints) will play Charles in the fourth sequel arriving in theaters October 24. If that wasn't cool enough, here's the OFFICIAL synopsis for the film: In the fifth installment of the popular SAW franchise, Hoffman is seemingly the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends. Click the title for the full cast for the film directed by David Hackl from a screenplay by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton.
seems to me like he will tie loose ends in the same saw fashion were use to.
with jigsaw some how having being a motvating factor.
then there will be a twist about how nothing has been what it seems and thay hoffman wasnt the only, or true heir and that jigsaw got the last laugh, and then some how in all this mist, they will find a way to stretch that into one final movie where everything we thought we knew, from start to finish just simply wasnt what it seemed.
I don't know about this, I've been a somewhat good fan to the Saw series, but this is kinda getting ridiculous, I mean nothing is as it was before and it's straying from the point of the franchise.
I was hoping that Saw V was going to take place between the time that Saw III ended and the Autopsy in Saw IV. Of course, having read Saw IV's script, I know a few details that are important but were cut from the film that would make this impossible, but I was still hoping.
for some reason this synopsis sounds weak compared to the others, it seems fake, and if you all remember the first synopsis they released for saw 4 was fake as well. who knows, i love the saw movies so i'm seeing it regardless.
Wait, there was a Screamers 2?
Anyway, aside from giving away the twist at the end of the Saw 4, this synopsis does give me some hope that they'll actually give some character development (maybe backstory) to the character of Hoffman (who was only used as a plot device in Saw 4).
At the same time this sounds ambiguous enough to be made up, like someone watched Saw 4 and simply guessed what would happen in Saw 5.
I had read somewhere on line and can't find it now, but there was an early Saw V script, with a few pages "leaked" that had Amanda still alive in the ambulance being taken to a hospital. I am sure it probably not real but I would love to see her wrap the series up in some form or fashion...
Hmmm... I'm slighty skeptical of the synopsis. It seems as though Hoffman would actually be killing people to keep them quiet, which wasn't what Jigsaw was about. Remember, he never technically killed anyone, he gave them all a choice. If Hoffman's running around putting bullets in everyone's head just to keep them quiet (when Jigsaw didn't give a shit who knew who he was) it seems like he wouldn't be a true heir at all. I like the idea, though, that Amanda is still alive, because that would open up a lot of possibilities. For one, I want to know what was in that fucking packet. It's driving me nuts.
The Saw franchise rules. I've never been disappointed in any Saw film so far. You just learn more and more about the story each time. Can't wait for Saw V.
is obvious that Hoffman is NOT the person to carry on the Jigsaw legacy, simply based on the autopsy tape: You feel you now have control, don't you? You think you will walk away untested. I promise that my work will continue. That I have ensured. By hearing this tape, some will assume that this is over but I am still among you. You think it's over just because I am dead. It's not over. The games have just begun. 1. Jigsaw promised Hoffman that [MY] work will continue. This implies that Jigsaw excluded Hoffman from his work and legacy. And Jigsaw used the pronoun "our" when he spoke to Amanda, "You think about what you promised me. Think about our dreams." 2. Jigsaw told Hoffman, "You think it's over just because I am dead." What was IT that Hoffman thought was over? Obviously Jigsaw's work and legacy. Jigsaw knew that Hoffman was going to try to screw him and put an end to his work and legacy. Therefore, Hoffman was never the chosen one to be the new Jigsaw, nor will he ever be. Saw V will be about Hoffman trying to save his own career which is threatened by the "secret" mentioned in the official synopsis...his role as a Jigsaw accomplice.
To 1st shall be the last i dont understand what you said haha but anyways i hope thats not the real synopsis because that sounds so gay and sounds nothing like saw and they wouldnt do somthing like that because the saw movies are amazing doing something completly out of the blue would ruin the franchise as for the four movies before this one every single one of them kicked ass and im sure this one will as well
..I just hope they haven't forgotten / and still bring the whole "Cherish your life"-kinda concept(s) ..
You know, like when Amanda first escaped her trap, {the Jaw Breaker} on the 2004-Saw, and Billy coming and saying the so famous "Most people are SO ungrateful to be alive .. But NOT you .. NOT anymore .."
Or on the same movie, but then Tobin [Bell], said this towards the end, with Adam, before leaving the bathroom and letting Adam there, to rot in the dark . ..
I just hope that will, somehow, you know, come back .. {I haven't seen this for a while ..}
I know, I am like, 3 years too late, to mention this .... But, I just think it's too bad, they decided to kill off Emmannuelle Vaugier .. I thought / still think Addison should have play(ed) in more of the Saw-movies . .. She COULD have just survived her trap, {the hand trap} .. It was revealed on a special feature on the construction of the trap for the set, that if she just walked to the other side of the box, she would see a lock with a key sticking out of it, which in turn would have unlocked the box and allowed her to access the antidote without any harm and then she'd free herself .. {and who knows .. COULD have stay(ed) as a regular character. .. like, perhaps "the next JigSaw", or perhaps "another apprentice" .. or WHAT-EVER .. ** SIGHH ** I REALLY think it's too bad, they way they decided to do it .. Oh well ... Rest In Peace ... Addison .. I won't foget you ...

yea i think they leave characters out like danny for example so they have more material to run on for future movies they could bring him back when ever they choose but hey what if danny is being kept somewhere now like his dad was and we will find out about it in this one but i couldnt agree more with 1st shall be the last they really need to keep the lesson thing going because saw isnt saw without the lesson story lines
I heard that on the commentary of saw 4 that there was an alternate ending were rigg doesnt open the door but witnesses eric's death and is in shock.then hoffman gets out the door and whispers something in rigg's ear that leaves him more in shock and hoffman just walks away and saves corbett.but instead of shooting down jeff strahm shoots and kills rigg.
Oh and i also read in a interview with david Hackl,he confirms there is a total of seven traps and there are TWO main twists at the end of the movie.he also confirmed that Scott Patterson (Agent Strahm)was the actor he was reffering to being in the "dangerous" trap that really "brings out the real fear of Strahm."but he said that its a real basic trap that could be easily topped in 6.so that basically confirms that Strahm is indeed alive but for how long?
WTF happened with "the trap that could potentially, actually, KILL the person"??!!

yea the alternate endings idea is pretty cool.but i have a hunch that Strahm,Perez and hoffman will probably get killed off in this one since they always kill off the main character in the previous movie.Just look at wat happened to Jeff.im pretty sure around comic con time we'll get some clips and stills like last year with 4.

amanda is dead.it was confirmed last year along with jigsaw being dead.dood sara got her head chopped off.plus her head was found in a box by lincoln so im pretty sure shes dead.

This is just a theory, and not really one that I hold, at that. However, I don't know if anyone has really gone into it yet, and the fact is, there is a very strong possibility that this is correct.
Let's list some things we know about JIgsaw/John Kramer:
1. He likes to test people
2. He likes to try to recruit those who pass
3. He wants people to cherish their lives
4. He likes having a front-row seat to his sick little games
5. He's an old man with cancer who got started down this path after a. his son died, b. he was diagnosed with cancer, c. he tried to kill himself but survived
6. He has had at least two apprentices in the past
I'm on the right track so far, yeah?
Okay. We learned most, if not all, of this from whom?
John's ex-wife, Jill.
Okay, so I'm sure we've all noticed that while Strahm is interrogating Jill, she is extremely uncooperative. Why?
Maybe because she's spinning a web of lies.
Let's pretend for a second that we can't trust a single word Jill has said. Now what do we know?
We know that an old man named John Kramer had cancer and died.
But Jigsaw's work will continue.
So, my point?
Who's to say that John Kramer isn't himself just a pawn or an apprentice to Jigsaw, the REAL Jigsaw's games? Another dead-end for the police?
Think about it. We have:
1. Jill being very uncooperative for no apparent reason
2. Hoffman making a mysterious phone call after doing certain things, even though Jigsaw should be nearby
Now think about this:
There's a certain doctor whose wherabouts are unknown. What else do we know about him?
1. He was willing to do what it took. He cut off his own foot before disappearing. He also never came back for Adam. Either he died, or he doesn't give 2 fucks about Adam, who failed his test
2. He did this right before John Kramer left the bathroom. John could've easily helped get him to safety before he bled to death.
3. His pen was found at a crime scene. This can be explained via Zepp getting ahold of it. But we can also figure that it was Gordon who had Zepp do it, or who had John have Zepp do it. If nobody but John actually knows that Gordon is the real Jigsaw, his identity remains fairly safe.
4. "Wait," you say, "would he really put his family at stake like that?" "Yes," I say. If you recall, he almost had an affair. He could have just led a double life the entire time.
5. Also, keep in mind that many of the people tested have been patients or doctors at the same hospital that Gordon works at. Besides having a breeding ground for test subjects, he also could've been inspired by his job. Sometimes, doctors go nuts, because of trauma. Maybe he "SAW" all of these people with problems they put themselves into, and decided to try to get them to better appreciate their lives. He could've done the whole test with Adam to fake his own death and leave his family safely behind. Meanwhile, he leads Tapp{Danny glover) on to be sure that Tapp would go in and rescue his family before Zepp could actually do them any harm. The worst that could happen would be that he loses those he was planning to lose anyway.
Basically, everything we know about Jigsaw that we didn't learn from Jill, we learned from Gordon. He perfectly fits the Jigsaw mold.
Personally, I don't think I want this to happen. Mostly because, if it does, I won't be surprised, and that's part of the reason I watch these films. Anyway, I'm sure people have speculated about Gordon being Jigsaw before, but this is my way of displaying how very possible it is.
