Maddie & Lily both run into their respective ex-boyfriends COLIN and DEX, who is there with his friend JASON. After the cops break up the party, Colin & Angela make a grisly discovery. Soon all seven are trapped in the house, slated to become victims of an ancient demon called Septem. As Angela, Dex, Lily and Suzanne fall prey, it's up to Maddie, Colin and Jason to solve the mystery of Broussard House and make it through the night, if they can...
BREAKDOWN
[MADDIE CURTIS] Early to mid-20s, attractive, edgy, with a wry sense of humor, Maddie is secure enough in herself to choose a scary costume over a "man-gettin'" one for the party she attends at the infamous Broussard Mansion. Maddie has recently overcome a bad breakup with bad boy/reluctant drug dealer Colin, who shows up at the party. As the Halloween night party descends into demonic chaos and Maddie's friends are picked off, she must team up with Colin to solve the mystery of Broussard House. Maddie's goal is to make it through the night, but it may be harder than she thought....LEAD (4)
[ANGELA FELD] She's charismatic and theatrical, dressed in black goth trappings, Angela is a professional producer of raves and parties who realizes her lifelong dream of throwing the ultimate party at the infamous Broussard mansion. A mesmerizing m.c. who whips party goers into a frenzy with her creepy welcome speech, Angela is furious when the cops show up--apparently, not a first for her. With the cops gone, Angela helps Colin search for his missing stash in the basement, and there discovers, to her surprise and delight, skeletons and a mummified corpse. After scraping her hand against the teeth of the corpse, Angela finds herself becoming woozy and gradually turns into a demon, complete with tail, horns and a ravenous hunger for mayhem. The first of the group to turn, Angela becomes the leader of the demon pack and loses none of her theatricality as she pursues her prey...LEAD (3)
[COLIN LEVY] Early to mid-20s, he's a schemer always looking for an edge and never quite finding it, Colin's ill-thought-out solution to his high debts has resulted in him becoming a reluctant (and somewhat ineffective) drug dealer. After being put on notice by underworld figure Nigel, Colin goes to the Halloween party determined to sell his stash and get the money he needs to pay off his debts. He's uncomfortable to run into his ex-girlfriend Maddie but soon has more pressing worries when the police bust the party. Colin hides the drugs -- but when he retrieves them, he inadvertently sets the stage for demons to emerge. At first Colin can focus only on his own need to get out of there, but soon he realizes that he must team up with Maddie and Jason to make it until morning, if he can…LEAD (7)
[JASON ROGERS] Mid 20s, laidback, kind of sweet, Jason's a paintball aficionado who, along with his friend Dex, spends Halloween night on a rooftop smoking pot, eating candy and shooting the neighborhood bully with a paintball gun. After buying some E fro Colin at the Broussard mansion party, Jason winds up locked in the mansion with Maddie, Dex, Angela, Lily, Suzanne and Colin after the cops close it down. Freaked out by a bizarre encounter with Lily, Jason knows early on that something's seriously wrong with their friends. Soon he's fighting demons and trying to unravel the mystery of Broussard House with Colin and Maddie. Jason survives an injury but doesn't fare so well when the demons resort to trickery...LEAD (8)
[LILY THOMPSON] 25, bohemian, beautiful, Lily is friends with Maddie and Suzanne, with whom she goes to the Halloween party at the Broussard mansion. Lily professes surprise when she runs into her ex-boyfriend Dex, though her actions before the party suggest otherwise. Dex and Lily quickly make up, but their alone time is interrupted when the police arrive. Once they discover that they're locked in the mansion for the night, Lily and Dex resume what they started. Unaware that Dex is not himself, Lily soon changes as well -- and in demon form, she freaks Jason out...LEAD (4)
[SUZANNE REED] A young hipster who's friends with Lily and Maddie, Suzanne takes Maddie and Lily to the Broussard mansion for a night of drinking and fun. Having known Angela, the producer, since high school, Suzanne is the only one who knows the backstory of the "evil" Broussard mansion. Quickly settling in for some heavy drinking once she arrives, Suzanne winds up gyrating drunkenly in one of the swinging go-go cages. After the cops break up the party and the remaining group finds the skeletons in the basement, Suzanne, unaware that Angela has become a demon, tries unsuccessfully to deflect Angela's advances--and winds up gruesomely turned into a demon herself...LEAD (5)
[DEX TRILBY] Mid 20s, lovably scruffy, Dex spends his pre-party time watching trick or treaters from a rooftop with Jason. A bit awkward when he finds his ex-girlfriend Lily at the party, he seems interested in at least talking with her. However, Dex winds up locked in the mansion with the others after the cops break up the party and the remaining group discovers the skeletons in the basement. Taken aback and disoriented when Angela gives him a major kiss during a game of spin the bottle, Dex begins to turn into a demon--and takes Lily along with him...LEAD (8)
[NIGEL REDMOND] A guy with scary eyes and a twisted smile, Nigel is a drug kingpin who threatens Colin to make good on his debt. Jesus that synopsis doesnt sound anything like the original movie. They might as well change the title.
My expectations are mighty low (as usual for remakes) but i really hope this is not another disgrace to the golden age of horror, the awesome 80's
Hmmm, I'm glad they kept the Angela character, and Maddie sounds as promising a main as Judy was, but I'm a little nervous over the whole drug storyline they're using. I loved the original and I hope they don't mess this one up.
Where the FUCK is Roger?!! He was the BEST thing about the orginal as far as characters went. Gotta love the a super chickenshit character who runs from everything, but MANAGES to survive and save the main heroine in the last second. And what happened to Hull House? This does look to be a new movie in itself. The only people who are the same is Angela and Suzanne. Hell, even that fat guy could've been cool. I guess the original got a little TOO real for the remake staff. I mean, like all the other modern remakes, keep the cast looking MTV/CW/WB-chic. Blah!
okay, so the only important character to keep semi-true in my opinion is Angela, and the fact that she scratches her finger in order to be "possessed" (illogical) is stupid. I think the dance scene after the spirit enters her in the original is a rather provocative and elusive part of the movie.
Also, tail, horns, etc.? Sounds like a DEVIL rather than a DEMON per se. I dunno the original is a favorite of mine, and it sounds like they are playing around way too much with the original plot for this to be good. I heard there was a bat transformation rape scene, or something like that...I am all for advacing to extreme standards, but they better keep certain qualities.
Also, there best be possessed lipstick going into nipples. As a kid that was my first boobie flick ( i know it's sort of demented to have that as my first 'official' image of boobs - but what can ya do) but def. most memorable scene (at least for me)
Lab, there's nothing wrong with that being your "first official image of boobs", My first was "I Spit on Your Grave." My family takes horror seriously............heh..
Ok! Now Night of the Demons 1 and 2 where both great movies with 3 being the least interesting out of them. Why mess with something that is a classic? But then again now a days they can't think of anything else to do. This remake will have to be really good in order for me to watch it. No one can replace the role Mimi Kinkade played as angelia and it would be great if she came back but then again she is probably busy doing her Pet psychic readings!!!!!!!
I'm nervous about this... drug dealers and shit? I mean sure thats a modern touch to it... but the original was great and the only things that seem to be from the orig is a couple names... even the damn house is changed... aye aye aye... this is gonna blow
