If I'm reading this right, Boll actually invested in his own film. I knew this guy was a moron (his movies are proof of that) but paying for almost half the budget of a film that no one wanted to see is beyond stupid.
Promise or no, considering Boll started out as an accountant, it strikes me as odd that he would agree to something so financially unsound. Did he seriously think the movie would make as much as he invested?
You reap what you sow, Boll. And while I don't actually supporting stealing money from a moron just because he's a moron and able to get away with it, as long as Boll isn't starving because of losing his money, I could care less that this hack was tricked out of his money. Think how often people invest in the stock market and lose big. With this, Boll actually had an opportunity to make a decent film that would make back more than his budget, and chose not to expend the effort.
He makes intentionally bad movies and expects to be paid money for his failures. He's finally getting what's coming to him.
