Paramount Pictures has announced a January 30, 2009 release date for The Uninvited, DreamWorks' remake of of the Korean horror pic A TALE OF TWO SISTERS, which we're told will probably change dates as soon as next week. The film centers on modern-day teenage sisters Anna and Alex Rydell who return home from a mental hospital only to find their recovery unraveling because of a cruel stepmother, clueless father and a lingering ghost. Elizabeth Banks, David Strathairn, Arielle Kebbel and Emily Browning all star in the film directed by Tom and Charlie Guard. Watch for an exclusive report from the set sometime this year.
The reviews from a sneek preview have been bad. January is known for it's shitty horror releases so I guess this will be next years "One Missed Call" disaster. I'm sure this one will be another turd which is sad b/c A TALE OF TWO SISTERS is my #1 fav. asian horror film. Also, this new title sucks but I must admit I'm glad they changed it b/c now I can just say "A Tale..." and not having to specify if Im talking about the original or remake.
I agree with Slasher Freak on this. When a studio puts out a horror movie in January, it's typically because they hope we're still drunk and happy from New Years Eve and won't notice how bad it sucks.
1 agree with Slasher Freak A TALE OTS is one of the Best Asian but they also take name '' The uninvited'' of another korean horror movie hope these flop make the studios stop remake movies that are good in first instance. and remake only the movies that are bad or aged but with a great idea and could doit better.
