Last week SpookyDan visited Alex Aja (High Tension, Hills Have Eyes) in the editing room for his latest feature film, Mirrors, which arrives this August from 20th Century Fox. While chatting with the French director, Spooky discovered some interesting information regarding The Black Hole adaptation, which Aja was once attached to. Read on for the skinny.
While chatting with director Alex Aja about MIRRORS, SpookyDan got Aja to revealed a little bit of interesting news about THE BLACK HOLE, which he was once attached to. Apparently Aja hopes to eventually make the film. “Basically we received a script based on the graphic novel about three years ago. We fell in love with this story about teenagers as monsters. As we got into development we approached Roger Avery and Neil Gaimen to do it, but schedules got in the way, then we didn’t really get along with the studio," he tells Bloody-Disgusting. "Now David Fincher is attached, but he has loads of projects so it may eventually come back to us. Its a great graphic novel and I want to do it exactly as it is in the book, it has to have all the sexual innuendo and drug emphasis that are so great in the book!"
The story follows a group of high school students whose lives are altered drastically when they come in contact with a sexually transmitted disease called the "teen plague" or "the bug."
