Nana Visitor (Babysitter Wanted) has been cast as the legendary Pamela Voorhees in Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13, which is currently lensing in Austin, Texas for release on Friday, February 13, 2009, according to Screen Geeks. She apparently won’t be in the film for long, but she has had a mold made of her head, the website reports. She joins Jared Padalecki, Derek Mears, Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Travis Van Winkle, Willa Ford, Nick Mennell and Jonathan Sadowski. The remake will focus on Jason Voorhees -- who will wear the mask and kill -- and keep the famous setting of Crystal Lake.
Not too bad. She's 51, so certainly old enough to be mother to a 20/30something murderer. :) I hope they make her look nice and matronly, that's what made Betsy's Mrs. Voorhees scary when she went mad.
"she has a mold made of her head"
clue right there, mrs. voorhees will be decapitated in the remake
one thing though, how are they going to fit all that in this movie with jason as a kid, to the first one w/ mrs. voorhees getting killed, and then jason getting the mask and killing people. will jason still have the potato sack that he had in part 2?
so Jason's going to be hot then? really i think Kathleen Turner or Glenn Close would have been a better choices.i'm sorry but this woman doesn't look like any body's mother. especially a ten foot tall retarded mountain man with a serious overbite and a hockey fetish.
She's a MILF. I'm not bitchin, but I would prefer momma Vorhees as the killer like THE ORIGINAL, as opposed to Jason. The story was more interesting. But who knows, this has potential to being a good, scary horror flick if done right. I'll definately see it regardless.
She's awesome for this role. As a product of 80s TV, she often played the good looking nutbar. Now she'll be playing a MILF nutbar.
Ahhh typecasting. No matter what the decade, it never truly goes away.
There isnt any big shoes to fill. --------------------------Heres the deal for all you guys out there with very thick heads. 10 minutes into the beginning the Paper Thin Kill'Off's sit around a campfire. One of them tells the tale about the Voorhees Legend. We dissolve into a myriad of scenes. Including the story of Pamela Voorhees. That's why this chick isn't in the film long. I feel bad for you delusional fan's. The entire film plot is already online in a summary over at Chud. Teens go to the abandoned camp to find weed planted in the woods around there. They are killed off. Whitney the only girl with these pot desperate dumb asses is kidnapped by Jason. He doesn't kill her because She looks like his mother, but that plot point surprise isn't revealed until sometime near the films climax. A short time after the film opening shocker.. Clay- Whitney's brother takes a trip out to the camp looking for her with his girlfriend. Since she's all kidnapped and no ones heard from her in a while. Tunnels and all sorts of Nancy Drew/Hardy Boy stuff. Jason shows up. Bla Bla Bla
so Mrs. V get her head AND fingers chopped off? cool. i didn't realize about the fingers part. here's a link for a short interview w/ Nana.
