If you head on over to my Official B-D Blog you can read my thoughts on Paul W.S. Anderson's (Event Horizon, Resident Evil) Death Race remake, which test screened in Los Angeles yesterday. This is by no means an official review as it is far from complete, but it is my initial reaction to the movie as a whole. Good, bad? Find out above. But I will say this... the audience LOVED it.
I had some insight during the shooting "Death Race 300" since my brother in law worked has an extra, i hear that Jason Statham his not a very friendly guy, Avp was allright (better then Freddy vs Jason) the best Paul Anderson movie is Resident Evil, i didnt think that Event Horizon was that good i think it had potential but failed.
Let us all just sit and let the ether wear off for a bit so we can think about this logically. If you have seen the original you would know that its about a cross country race where the objective is to run over innocent civilians along the way - for points. There isn't a movie studio out there in today's world (the original was made in the 70's) that has the balls to make a movie like that.
ok death race 2000 is one of my favorite movies and this down right piss' me of im sick of all these remakes, i mean every other movie that comes out is a remake and almost NONE of them are good, not to mention im getting pretty tired of seeing jason statham in EVERYTHING
I agree with Colblood, this movie has NOTHING of the Balls and criticism the original had about a depraved society that celebrated innocent people killed for points, instead of see it as a crime...
The F..Cking people of "right and proper" has screwed things up again!!
