Come on now folks, no reason to get nasty.
While ,admittedly, I did some head shaking when reading the first comment to this piece as well,a love for gore & these sorts of ultra violent films isn't necessarily a prerequisite for ALL genre fans. I mean, let's face it, the horror film covers a VERY wide range of subjects & types.
Is someone who adores the old B&W Universal classics & other offerings of the period any less of a horror film fan than the individual whose favorites are NECROMANTIK & AUGUST UNDERGROUND?
Not in my opinion.
They're just fans of differing tastes within the same genre. So, if TxGal states that she has no interest in seeing FRONTIER(S) because of the level of violence, what's the big deal?
Me? I have pretty eclectic tastes when it comes to my horror & can handle some pretty high levels of the red stuff & enjoy it as long as it reasonably necessary to the film itself. Gore for gore's sake doesn't really interest me. Then it just becomes a rather tedious display of latex, kayro syrup, bladders & such to my tastes.
As for FRONTIER(S) though, I'm very much interested in experiencing this bit of intense, boundry pushing filmmaking. I've been looking forward to seeing it since first reading about it several months back. Can't wait to get my hands on the DVD in a couple weeks time.
