Jonathan Sadowski (pictured inside; Live Free or Die Hard) joins the previously announced Jared Padalecki, Derek Mears, Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Travis Van Winkle, Willa Ford and Nick Mennell in New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures and MTV Films' Friday the 13th, which Marcus Nispel is directing for Platinum Dunes. Panabaker is playing the adventurous, athletic girlfriend of van Winkle, who plays a rich alpha male type that gathers everyone together. Yoo's character, named Chumbler, is a guy who's a little quirky and has a tendency to wear his attraction to pretty girls on his sleeve. Sadowski plays a techie who knows the horrific history of Camp Crystal Lake. Jason Voorhees (Mears) returns to theaters February 13, 2009.

Potheads I mean. Damn booze. So they cast big disnesy star names with intent too kill them all off in the first 15 minutes. When did F13 become Scream...

Step back for a minute and look at the casting for earlier F13s... For the first film, they grabbed TV actor Betsy Palmer. The only experience in the next couple of casts was minor soap opera and commercial work, but Part 4 featured actors who had already worked in other things, including Peter Barton, Corey Feldman, the Doublemint twins, and Crispin Glover. None were major stars at that point, but all had enjoyed some commercial success. In short, it's clear from looking back that had the makers of the first four F13s or so been able to afford name actors with built-in audience appeal (ala, Disney and CW actors), they certainly would have gotten them. Instead of groaning about this obviously R-rated film having teen stars in it, we should be happy that today's glut of cable channels and DTV movies and the success of recent horror remakes have made enough of those marketable stars to give this film some help in the casting department. Anything that helps ensure the prolonged life of this franchise is a positive thing, in my book.

Part 2 had nobody famous. Part 3 had nobody famous. In Part, those people weren't yet famous. Crispin did F13 before Back to the Future. Corey Feldman hadn't done Goonies or Lost Boys yet. Betsy Palmer was a tv actress who is now most well known for the F13 series. This series generally hires unknowns.

Chumbler used to be a Big Fat guy with Long Red Hair and a Goatie. His character type sounds spot on too how someone would Describe Harry Knowles of Aintitcool.com. Now he's an Asain guy... Oh for fuck sakes man these writter snot too much coek or something. Anyone ever meet a asain guy named Chumbler before.. Yeah. So these guys go up to the woods around Camp Crystal Lake looking for a weed plants. The leader planted there ages ago. They find the Weed then they build a campfire near the abaondoned cabins. The nerdy guy tells the tale about Jason and his Mother. The male female couple wander off into the woods to make with the fap fap. They accidentally find Jason's makeshift cabin. The group left at the campsite is attacked by jason.. All of this stuff is up at Chud.com.... Thats who these cast members are. Kinda glad Harry Knolwes isn't in this film. he was in the remake of TCM. I was for certain that his fat ass would play Chumbler... This film still sounds like shit.

I agree with the Chumbler thing. I thought he was, at least, going to be like that fat dude in Friday 3, the one who's trying to pitifully ask Vera out, who has NO interest in him. Making Chumbler Asian and skinny, urgh. They should've just written OUT "Chumbler" and write in some Asian guy.
