Sony Screen Gems has slated their remake of Nelson McCormick's The Stepfather for release on October 16, 2009. The story centers on a teenage boy (Badgley) who discovers his soon-to-be stepfather isn’t all he appears. In fact, the man who fell in love with his mother (Sela Ward), might be a psycho who murdered his previous family. McCormick's Prom Night in now in theaters everywhere.
this movie should have never been remade. well since the prom nighr remake is going to BLOW this one will be right up there with it when stepfather comes out next year.
trust me, guys, the Prom Night remake is THE worst remake/reimagining i've EVER seen. i get free passes and saw it last night. OMFG! it truly is an insult to any horror lover. the director is SO incompetent. he knows NOTHING about suspense/horror. i don't know how he can do The Stepfather justice.
The cast for "The Stepfather" remake is much better than the "Prom Night" remake. There's no group of unlikable teens, instead there's more adults and only two teenage characters. Hopefully, "The Stepfather" will be R-rated.
