Today we scored the ENTIRE cast for Universal Pictures' The Wolfman, which is currently lensing in London through June. Joe Johnston is directing the following cast: Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, Art Malik, Rob Dixon, Hugo Weaving, Nicholas Day, Michael Cronin, David Schofield, David Sterne, Roger Frost, Clive Russell and Geraldine Chaplin! We also learned the film arrives in theaters April 3, two months later than its February date. Like the 1941 original that starred Lon Chaney Jr., new pic will be set in Victorian England. Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and begins a hairy moonlight existence

I was really hoping for at least a cameo from Paul Naschy.

Bring this the fuck on. I can't fully get on board with Joe Johnston directing, but I think he's surrounded by enough talented people to not let this production steer into a river of shit. Here's to hoping.

The original Wolf Man was not set in Victorian England. It took place in Wales during modern times, which of course was the 1940's. Even though Benicio looks like a wolf man, I cannot picture him as anything but of Hispanic origin, certainly not Welsh.

I have more hope for THE WOLFMAN remake than I do the remake for THE INCREDIBLY SHRINKING MAN - which is supposedly being tooled into an Eddie Murphy comedy [can we say HAUNTED MANSION movie flop part 2 boys n' girls?]. SHRINKING MAN is a 50's scifi / horror classic - why remake it if you're just going to screw it over?!!!! ~(^)~

I am looking forward to this, Benicio is a real talent, so is Anthony Hopkins, just those two names alone being involved gets me excited, I am a huge fan of the original Lon Chaney Wolfman, and still to this day havent seen a better werewolf movie, hopefully this will be a rare gem of a remake, I will be open minded to it and looking forward to this one, just hopefully it's not flooded with tooo much shitty cgi
