New Progress on 'Creature from the Black Lagoon'
Posted 33 Minutes ago

A remake that has been lingering for what seems like ages over at Universal Pictures is The Creature from the Black Lagoon, which until now had director Breck Eisner locked down to direct. Today a new interview with Producer/Screenwriter Gary Ross appeared online to talk a bit about the remake, all of which can be found beyond the break. Maybe if THE WOLFMAN is successful in the Spring it'll light a fire under Uni's arse? ...Read More

Final Official One Sheet For 'My Bloody Valentine 3D'
Posted 4 Hours 26 Minutes ago

Beyond the break you can chew on the final one sheet for Lionsgate's My Bloody Valentine (trailer), which arrives in theaters January 16th. In the remake directed by Patrick Lussier, Tom (Jensen Ackles) returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine's night massacre that claimed the life of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders. George Mihalka's original film hit theaters back in 1981 and is considered a favorite among the horror crowd. ...Read More

Frank Miller Says 'Sin City 2' Could Shoot By April
Posted 4 Hours 34 Minutes ago

While I'm starting to believe Dimension Films won't make another movie besides HALLOWEEN II, a new report gives us some hope for the long-gestured sequel to SIN CITY. "Sin City 2 is written," Frank Miller tells IGN. "It's mainly a matter of working out the details of the production. I'm hoping to do it with Robert Rodriguez again in the same circumstances that we did the first one, and we could be shooting as soon as April." Early reports claimed that the film will be about Dwight McCarthy planing to have his vengeance against the woman who betrayed him, Ava Lord, while Nancy is trying to cope with Hartigan's death. Dimension Films' 2009 slate looks grim, which makes me think they truly are in a hep of trouble. Will we ever see SIN CITY 2? Let's hope so... ...Read More

Scout Taylor-Compton Slams 'Halloween 2' Rumors
Posted 5 Hours 25 Minutes ago

Before you get your panties in a bunch, our sources have confirmed Shock's previous story, which reported that Rob Zombie might be directing Halloween II for Dimension Films. We've been told that there are some heated talks ongoing, still leaving everything up in the air. The new Laurie Strode, Scout Taylor-Compton, thinks she has a better handle on the rumors as she tells Sequel-Buzz, "Where did you hear that from?... Oh, I'm so sick of this. People need to stop believing what they read on Internet. I'm somewhat close with Rob and believe me, if there was any truth to this...I'd know." The question is, would she really know? I'm going to go with no... chime in on your thoughts below. ...Read More

You can check out his video beyond the break, with a puppet version of the new FRIDAY THE 13TH arriving in February. First Six Stills From 'Feast III: The Happy Finish'
Posted 5 Hours 52 Minutes ago

This morning Genius Products provided Bloody-Disgusting with the first six official stills from Dimension Extreme's Feast III: The Happy Finish, which arrives on DVD February 17th. Picking up moments after the end of Feast II: Sloppy Seconds (the films were shot back-to-back with John Gulager at the helm), the survivors are saved by the mysterious prophet, Shot Bus Gus, who seemingly has the ability to control the beasts. He leads them into the sewers as they travel to the big city. Along the way they get help from karate expert Jean-Claude Seagal and learn that the beasts originate from a place called "The Hive." Armed with this knowledge, they decide to fight back and destroy the beasts once and for all. ...Read More

New 'Prey' Trailer Adds to the Controversy
Posted 6 Hours 5 Minutes ago

A film we've been following for quite sometime is the Australian horror film Prey, which even was praised for leaving a heavy lesbian scene intact. The latest controversy comes in the new trailer, which doesn't display a director (neither does the production website). The IMDB page now lists Oscar D'Roccster as the man behind the camera. Interesting. In the film, three couples, one from the USA and two from Australia, are about to learn the horrible truth about what happens when your 4WD holiday goes horribly wrong. In the desert, in the night, in the dark. ...Read More

Universal to Chew Bubblegum and Kick Ass in 'They Live' Remake
Posted December 4, 2008 @ 2:24

Some remake announcements I just shrug off, some I get excited for, and then some just plain get under my skin. While I am a remake enthusiast, there are some films I consider untouchable, and if a studio is going to remake a film all I ask is that it's different. Universal did throw us a pretty damn good remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD, so maybe a remake of John Carpenter's They Live won't be all that bad? Besides, Zack Snyder's Strike Entertainment is getting involved, which can only mean good things (right?). The story also confirms that Strike is also still planning on remaking THE THING (1982), which is a remake of THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD (1951). Read on for the story and chime in on your thoughts below. ...Read More

An Explosion of Rage in 'Piecemeal'
Posted December 4, 2008 @ 12:48

Zone Film is delivering a slice of horror with Jeff Welch's Piecemeal, a pretty interesting film that tells the tale of a teen who struggles to control his rage while living the life of a brutally abused young man in recurring nightmares. Daniel Roby is set to direct the film next fall after helming Remstar Prods.' 1970s-era saga FUNKTOWN in March. Seville Pictures will distribute the film in the U.K. and Canada, which means a Lionsgate release in the States is highly probably. Roby scored the TIFF's best Canadian debut feature award for his excellent vampire thriller WHITE SKIN. TCB Film's Simon Trottier will produce the film - his recent Toronto thriller MARTYRS helped land director Pascal Laugier a gig helming Dimension's next HELLRAISER film.

Revisit War of the Worlds in 'Knowing' One Sheet
Posted December 3, 2008 @ 9:39

While highly reminiscent of DreamWorks' WAR OF THE WORLDS poster, Summit Entertainment's official one sheet for Alex Proyas' Knowing is pretty damn cool. The image displays the Earth with a whole bunch of odd symbols bleeding out of the atmosphere; check it out inside. Arriving in theaters March 20, the film tells the story of a man (Nicolas Cage) who unearths a time capsule with children's drawings predicting the future that was buried in the 1950s. One child's drawings predicted several horrible events that already have come true; however, one of those events has not yet occurred, and the man sets out to prevent it from happening. ...Read More

EXCLUSIVE Kickin' Cast For 'All About Evil'
Posted December 3, 2008 @ 9:18

We caught wind of a new film going into production next March in San Francisco, CA that sounds pretty freakin' cool. Written and directed by Joshua Grannell is All About Evil, which follows a mousy librarian, who has inherited her father's beloved old movie house, discovers her inner serial killer -- and a legion of rabid gore fans -- when she starts turning out a series of grisly shorts. What her fans don't realize yet is that the murders in the movies are all too real. Upcoming phenoms Thomas Dekker (From Within, The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Noah Segan (Deadgirl, Cabin Fever: Spring Fever) will topline alongside horror legends Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) and Mary Woronov (Night of the Comet, Chopping Mall, House of the Devil). Patrick Bristow, Peaches Christ and Mink Stole round out the cast. ...Read More

EXCLUSIVE Alternate Ending For 'Friday the 13th' Remake
Posted December 3, 2008 @ 4:47

You saw some reviews hit the web regarding Marcus Nispel's Friday the 13th, now it looks as if we'll be seeing something completely different when the film hits theaters February 13, 2009. Some pretty sweet news comes in this afternoon as sources tell us that Platinum Dunes shot additional scenes for New Line Cinema's remake, which follows a group of young adults that find themselves going toe-to-toe with the infamous Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears) at a cabin near Camp Crystal Lake. What exactly was shot is unknown, but we can confirm a new (or possibly variant) ending was in fact filmed. That would be pretty awesome to see on the DVD! ...Read More

'World War Z' a Thriller... Like Bourne Identity?! Eww....
Posted December 3, 2008 @ 1:59

How many of you caught the new James Bond movie QUANTUM OF SOLACE? Well, I thought it was a complete bore and lacked any thrills that a Bond movie should have, which is why I am frightened that director Marc Forster is going to be adapting World War Z for Paramount Pictures. In a new interview with writer J. Michael Straczynski, I have found a whole new reason to be paranoid... the film is said to be compared to THE BOURNE IDENTITY (yikes). Read on for the skinny. ...Read More
