Dimension Films has announced a November 26 Thanksgiving Weekend release for John Hillcoat's adaptation of The Road, which stars Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Robert Duvall. The story centers on a man who embarks on a nightmarish road trip after a nuclear explosion in an attempt to transport his son to safety while fending off cannibals. Watch for more updates soon.
I'm just wondering how this guy scored such a huge movie deal with virtually no real feature film experience. Hollywood needs to stop letting douchebag MTV video directors take the reigns on important films like this one could be.
John directed The Proposition which was a great movie so this adaptation is in very good hands. And who gives a shit about "real" feature film experience. The guy who directed The Strangers has ZERO film experience behind the camera and the film looks good.
true that, totally agree with Battletorn on this one. With the ppl attached to this I cant see it failing, they would have pulled the director before finishing this, the book this is based off of is too good to be wasted.
