Today the Weinstein Company announced a new date for their animated horror pic, Igor, which features the voice talents of Eddie Izzard, Jay Leno, Jennifer Coolidge, Molly Shannon, Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, John Cusack and Sean Hayes. Originally slated for release in October, the film will now arrive in theaters September 19th, which isn't a very good sign. "Igor" is a twist on the monster genre, following a mad scientist's hunchbacked lab assistant who has big dreams of winning the Evil Science Fair.
Since when is something getting bumped closer a bad sign? Quite frankly, maybe someone decided that it's better than they thought, and that it might have stronger legs than a film that NEEDS a holiday to succeed.
Well, wait.....Midnight Meat Train is a good example. Let's hope the fate of that film doesn't happen to this.
