Long story short, I had a feeling this film was bad. Southern Gothic was made before TOOTH & NAIL and yet After Dark Films acquired TOOTH to put in their Horrorfest. The obvious reason was that GOTHIC is far worse, which is exactly what B-D stringer David Harley writes from the SXSW Film Festival in Austin. "I'm offended that Young actually submitted SOUTHERN GOTHIC to SXSW. I can't even imagine how he thought someone would pick this up for distribution. The only thing more offensive than that is that it actually made it in! I suspect that it'll fade into obscurity after this week, never to be seen again which I'm thankful for. Having actually sat through this, I'd like to recommend to the film's marketing crew that the tag line should officially be changed from 'Prey for daylight' to 'Prey for this movie to be over.' I really enjoyed Tooth & Nail. I believe the films in this years Horrorfest are way better than the first round. I really liked Gravedancers the most out of the first batch, but so far, 4 out of the 8 I have seen have been good.
