London-based sales company Independent is handling international sales for Moon, a sci-fi thriller starring the indestructible Sam Rockwell and directed by Duncan Jones. The pic, which has just finished shooting at the U.K.'s Shepperton Studios, is the story of a man stranded on a moon base, lonely but not alone. This is the debut feature by Jones, formerly Zowie Bowie, who has carved out a career as a commercials director. The script by Nathan Parker follows Astronaut Sam Bell who has a quintessentially personal encounter while stranded on the moon for a three-year period.
Hell yes! Rockwell rules! I don't care what anyone says, I really dug Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and I love Galaxy Quest- and Rockwell is a great part of both of those films.
However, Rockwell doing serious sci-fi? Am I the only one or does this sound awesome! I thought he did great in a more serious role in Assassination of Jesse James last year.
