I wouldn't call the writers of Feast and Saw 4 genre favs. Granted, they did much to emulate the kind of writing that Whannell was so good at with the previous 3 films, but they also changed a lot of what made the previous three films interesting. They changed the modus operandi for Jigsaw (he doesn't make people appreciate their lives, he only teaches them to help themselves) and his backstory (it wasn't the cancer that car accident that changed his perspective, it was losing his unborn son, which in the context of what he says to Jeff in Saw 3, makes him a hypocrit), they repeated a lot of the twists and plot points from the earlier films and produced nothing remotely original (which was what made Saw 1 - 3 work so well). They gave us the only remotely predictable of the Saw endings and made the new villain the one person in the films so far that has absolutely no character development or backstory (which means the twist has no real impact by the time we reach that point in the movie). Saw 1 thru 3 were great, 4 was not horrible but the weakest of those so far. I can only suspect the trend of diminishing quality in these films, with the help of these two writers, will continue as they churn out more sequels. I only wish they'd bring back the original writer and director, even if only so much as story consultants so at least the overall premise would work better than it did in Saw 4 (which was basically Saw 3 take 2...the main character is a person who has trouble letting go and Jigsaw teaches him a lesson).

im pretty sure in this one we'll see more hoffman backstory in 5.and last year diddnt the producers say we'll see Obi's connection with jigsaw???? also this movie has more of a chance that we will see the faith of Dr. Gordon since Leigh Whannell said in a interview that they fixed things up with Cary Elwes and he may appear in a future SAW film (V or VI). Unfortunately on the SAW IV commentary Bousman said he wanted to leave Gordon's fate a mystery. But now since Hakl is in charge that could change. And what was the point of the deleted scene in SAW IV???

Saw V I guess is going to go back and actually show all that especially that trap that was shown but never tested near the end of Saw IV(the one with the broken glass inside the glass case) I don't care what many people say I say Saw 4 was a return to form even thought the last 20 minutes was partly replaying the last 20 from Saw 3 plus some....Tobin will still be the Voice of Billy during Videos and tapes tobin also will probably make some apperance in a flash back when it's shown how the detective was recuited.

..I'm kinda hoping we haven't seen the last of Amanda yet .. None of you people have to 'correct me', because I have seen ALL of the movies, and [therefor] I know she died from the neck-shot, by Jeff, on Saw III, but still ... Just even showing flashbacks from, well, you know, perhaps 'more of her victims' .. I kinda, like(d) her inescapable traps, (Troy, Allison Kerry). . But I have this feeling, we HAVE seen the last of her indeed .. :'( :'( :'( :-( .. Oh well .. THE MOVIES STILL ROCK !!!!! THEY (the writers) ARE STILL SICK !!!! NO.. THERE'S NO FU**ING WAY, I, EVER, WILL GET DISAPPOINTED BY SAW .. NEVER EVER !! :-D :-D :-D
