While Darren Lynn Bousman finishes up REPO! THE GENTIC OPERA and preps for an episode of FEAR ITSELF for Lionsgate and NBC, Dimension Films will be finding a new writer to pen the remake of Scanners, which was originally written by David Goyer. Now that the remake of the classic Cronenberg film is being rewritten, the film has been pulled from its planned October 18 release and set to an unknown 2009 date. More news as it comes in. In the original low-budget movie, a couple of hundred telepathic and telekinetic humans, led by the particularly cunning and powerful Revok, plotted to take over the Earth, in some cases using their powers to literally blow people's minds.
