If the choice is another Friday sequel or a remake, I fully support the remake. Like Halloween and Freddy, the sequel storylines have gotten so ridiculous. This could be really good if done right.

I hope they keep Jason in the "shadows" for most of the movie, like part 2. I think it will be more effective like that, instead of showing him all the time, in his full glory.

Great point. I would love to see this remake center around Momma Vorhees and the creation of why Jason becomes what he is. THAT is atleast interesting. it is for sure a remake. and i happen to have a good understanding they are combining the first 4 films in this remake. and as for the pamela voorhees being the original killer... this gives platinum dunes a chance to give their own spin... lets keep in mind... you never actually see the killer through out the entire original film. who's to say pamela wasn't controlling her son to do the deed and when someone tried to get in the way... that's when mommy voorhees decided to get her hands dirty. there are a number of possiblities... but i do understand they were talking about underground tunnels through out the camp area which would explain how he got around as fast as he did and popped up just anywhere... keep the info coming MrDisgusting

If you remake FRIDAY THE 13TH and DON'T have Jason in it, you'll have what they like to call in the film industry, "a flop". Hardcore F13 fans will make up between 35-40% of the audience for this film if it is profitable. The rest of the ticket revenue will come from the general populace - nearly all of who will cry "Foul!" if the killing is done by anyone other than a hockey mask-clad Jason. Many of those people don't know who the killer was in the original, and none of them care. So the answer is, "No, they're not retarded." They're businessmen, and they know the surest way to bury the F13 franchise forever is to do a straight remake of the original film and not include the franchise's iconic star.

I must admit when i heard about Jason X i thought it was going to suck. But i thought it was way better than Jason GTH. Ive been kinda turned off remakes because of RZ's Halloween. Sorry horror fans(to me the only ones who count are above the age 21) it just sucked. Though the directors cut made me slightly less mad by keeping Loomis alive. But hey its all in the eyes of the beholder. I am interested in when this remake will take place. The 50's? After part 2? Someone did bring up that Mrs. Vorhees could have been controlling Jason to kill in the first one. So they could play it out like that in the remake. I always wanted to know what happened to Jason's Dad. Make it more like he was raised in the woods. A survivalist. Who lives by the lake. The Friday 13th franchise has been as slow and tiring as Jason himself. The first few F13 films were alright but then the remainder of the series, so far, has been cheap, silly and boring. This next Jason film, (if he is actually in it) needs to be the last. It needs to go out with a bang. Maybe Jason and the whole crystal lake camp can go up in flames??
