NECA Teases Samara Figure That Was Cancelled

Oh why did they have to do this?! There's nothing worse than a cock-tease and NECA has just ticked me silly. As of late the toy company has been revealing figures, which might have been. On the list they've included Samara, the vengeful spirit from DreamWorks' remake of The Ring film franchise. Figures.com reports that sadly, this figure's demise came from disagreements over ownership between the American-made film and the original Japanese film. Read on for a look and take a look at RING on our Top Horror Remakes of All-Time list.

I still don't understand why they chose such a stagnant pose to go with, I really think they should have made her crawling out of the TV or something...

WTF? So the fuss was all over an argument for claims of ownership and the right to profit from said idea (aka "I own the rights to make a percentage from your product you so tastefully fashioned from the idea I own, thereby creating a product I can take my cut from, or in a better way of putting it, you pay me, that's right, I'm jumping on the merchandising bandwagon mothafucka, so pay me my cut---beotch!!!) I have to wonder if they could've creatively got around this dead end, by maybe creating not one, but two (2) separate figures...one in the likeness of Samara, and one in the likeness of Sadako. Maybe with the Samara figurine at the well (better would be having her positioned as crawling out of the well; whereas the Sadako figurine paired with a Television, crawling out thru the screen along with attention to detail of those hideously-freaky fingers dug into the floor as if she was in great pain or something. I dunno. Maybe such an idea was proposed, and still was in disagreements over owner/originator rights. All I know is I expected this a long time ago, and now I know why I recieved all those looks as if I were crazy, or off my meds or something, for everytime I went in Hot Topic and related stores that carry those little horror character figurines.

I'm still waiting on my Samara and Sadako action figures to become a reality. Although my idea for matching Ring/Samara & Ringu/Sadako themed lunchboxs didn't go over very well, when proposed, especially considering the reaction it would recieve from the little kids being scared shitless. Hey kid, I'll trade you this video for your Ho-Hos. make sure you watch it with those assholes of parents you belong to. As for my kids, they love the idea of toting Samara or Sadako around school. But hey, tho I love them very much, they are I admit, a little more twisted than the average child.
