On the heels of Bloody-Disgusting breaking the news that Victor Salva will return to direct Jeepers Creepers 3: The Creeper Walks Among Us for MGM, new details have come in regarding who we might see in the third film, expected to begin lensing this summer. Read on for the skinny. Jeepers Creepers was the sole horror film to break the trend of the'90s PG-13 teen-thrillers that plagued theaters.
Ray Wise tells Fangoria that he will reprise his role of Jack Taggart Sr. from the previous film. Now that the strike is over, we can finally get rolling on the new JEEPERS CREEPERS, Wise said. Victor has written a big part for me in it.
Salva has high hopes for the film and believes that a theatrical release would do just as good as the first two. "MGM initially suggested that we go direct to video with the third in the trilogy, but we hope that the exciting entity that the new MGM is becoming realizes that both 'Jeepers Creepers' films set [then-] records for their Labor Day weekend box-office openings, before each went on to make over $100 million apiece on DVD," he continues. "I believe a theatrical release is critical to this kind of success on video. I dont think you can have one without the other, and it would be a shame not to be able to see what I have planned for 'Jeepers 3' up on the big screen."
As for the plot, "It includes a prologue in the Old West and might bring back several characters from the first two films 20 years later. The script and story will be big on scares and give us plenty more of the traditional Creeper creepiness, with a few more bits thrown in about what it might be and where it came from.
Interesting, though thought the first two Jeepers Creepers were considered "horror lite". They could've been scarier and the characters could've been more likable(Justin Long's sister in the first movie was a total bitch) and sympathetic. I was never fond of the Creeper's design. He looks stupid, but the concept behind him and his victims is brilliant. I hope they really deliver with the scares in the third installment!
I thought Jeepers Creepers was lame. A nice try at bringing back the classic monster movie as opposed to the same ol' serial killer theme, but in my opinion failed. I could care less about Jeepers 3, 4, 5, etc, etc.
I actually didn't think anyone really even remembered Jeepers Creepers anymore. I was no longer aware of its existence till I saw this article. This is sincerely forgettable shit. And while I'm on the subject, doesn't anyone remember that Victor Salva is a pedophile? Think about that when you're handing out your money at the box office to see this crapfest.
Thank goodness for Jeepers Creepers 3. Now if they would just make the final Phantasm movie I would be happy. And OT, im not defending Victor Salva for what he did, and I would never say its right. But there is a difference between a "pedophile" who hurts and sexually abuses children who are to young to defend themselves, and sucking off a teenager who probably agreed to it, until he realized Salva was worth money. Again, im not defending him, but im not going to boycott his movies because of shit that happend 20 years ago.
I thought the first two films were ok. I don't like the director though, based on his past misdeeds. However, I like Ray Wise(He's great on Reaper) so I may just have to check this out.

I always thought they would make another one...four years later and bam there is talk about making it a trilogy. Not really surpised by it, hopefully this will be the last and leave it at that.
Can't agree with you more "convicsik" I'm not going to ignore the film because of the directors actions years ago.
Anyway I can't wait for this, I loved the first 2, and I can only hope for a theatrical release on this one!
I thought the second one should've been the first one. A lot of the suprises of the second one would've been creepy as hell if you didn't already know what was going on. Part one was great until they started doing stupid stuff, "See that guy who was chasing us in a big scary truck who looks like he's throwing bodies down a well? Let's go check it out!"
What exactly is Mr. Disgusting talking about in regard to PG-13 late 90's horror? The Scream series was hard R. The I Know What You Did movies were R. The Faculty was R. The Forsaken was R. Disturbing Behavior was R. The Blair Witch Project had more curse words than my grandmother after her fifth Jack and Coke on Christmas.
Oh wait. I remember what was PG-13. The Sixth Sense. Damn sellouts.
The PG-13 wave didnt start until AFTER Jeepers 1, and in fact even when Jeepers 2 came around it was still not in full swing. Plus Jeepers' characters were teens too! Mr Disgusting needs to stop posting drunk!
I was sooooooo happy to see Jeepers Creepers upon it's original release! Maybe some people have forgotten how bad horror films had gotten before then -- not I.
That aside, the first one totally creeped me out, and I was overjoyed to see a well crafted, good old fashioned monster movie once again. The second one took a decidedly different approach, a kind of horror/action/adventure, Captain Ahab Vs Moby Dick affair which I found to be completely entertaining. I own both DVDs, which I've watched several times, and whatever Salva's next take might be for part 3... I'm there already!
Long live the Creeper! :->
I can't wait for this movie. Part 1 was amazing! Part 2 was good until the second half of the movie. Part 3 will be at least a decent horror flick, I'm sure. Salva is a good writer and director, so that's why I'm sure it'll at least be alright, hopefully better than part 2.
I can't wait for this movie as well-but I am a little disappointed that Ray Wise is coming back. Don't get me wrong-he is an amazing actor, but bringing him back in JC3 would just recycle that corny as hell revenge story from JC2! I mean, what do you think he's gonna do in JC3, stare? Again? Who wants to see him run around with that dammed harpoon gun again? Because I don't!
