UPDATE INSIDE: A few weeks back Rob Zombie announced that he will be directing a new horror film for Dimension Films entitled Tyrannosaurus Rex, which is NOT about dinosaurs. We were intrigued so we did some serious digging and have finally discovered the basic premise (with some minor details still missing). Read on to see what Rob Zombie's T-REX is about!
UPDATE: There's a supposed "official" Myspace page for the film where Rob Zombie (if it's really him) writes "Not sure how this all started , but this film is not based on a comic book called The Nail. If fact I haven't told anybody what this film is yet." So either one of three things happened: 1: Rob is lying per usual (like when he told DreadCentral that he was in fact directing CHUD, which was BS) 2: The Zombie camp is lying to me 3: Rob changed the story enough to where it's not based on THE NAIL anymore. I guess only time will tell who is bullsh-tting who, but I can tell you this much - I'm getting pretty fed up with all of this lying, semantics and lack of communication that always seems to come with a Rob Zombie movie.
A regular scooper tipped us off, and it was confirmed that T-REX is about a wrestler named Tyrannosaurus Rex who is on the run from a biker gang from hell. Furthermore, the idea for the film is loosely based on the comic book Zombie did with Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) entitled THE NAIL. Here's the synopsis:
Hunted in one of the most desolate regions of America, preyed upon by an evil that does not sleep, Rex Hauser is The Nail - and it's time he took a stand. A semi-pro wrestler, Hauser has been touring the country performing at small-time arenas until the fateful night he and his family run afoul of a bloodthirsty gang of Satanic bikers stalking the North Dakota Badlands. Now he's a lone man fighting for the survival of his loved ones in a no-holds-barred standoff against the forces of Hell itself! Co-written by the newly formed CREEP International writing team of modern horror masters Rob Zombie and Steve Niles, The Nail is a relentless, unflinching portrait of the heart of darkness, and what one man will sacrifice to hold it at bay.
Sounds like this should be called House of 1000 Biker Corpses, no reason to confuse people with Tyrannosaurus Rex. Or just call it The Nail since that's what it's based on.
Why does everyone hate Rob now? Calm down people. White trash is his thing, and he does it well. And absolutely NONE of it resembles anything Tarantino.
Glad to see this is being made into a movie. Now I can sell those atrocious 1st printings for a lot of moolah on eBay. Same with the Spookshow Internationals.
Rob's films are getting worse and worse. He should go back and re-form White Zombie...now THAT was talent. Just because he directed music videos, doesn't mean he can properly handle films. As much as I want to love his work, I've been let down every time. It seems the only people whi find his directed work still interesting are people half my age who ALSO loved films like SAW and Hostel. Way too overrated. I agree about the Quentin comment. Rob is just (poorly) imitating his work. Not like I even like QT that much, but atleast when he did it, it was original. I'm sure this will have too many cameo appearances and strung-together white trash dialogue. Come on people, you really still find this entertaining???

house of 1000, and devil's rejects are zombies version of kill bill vol 1 and 2... they are kinda similar if you really think about it.. but I do enjoy rob's movie's alot! his movies are far better than any of those piece of fucking shit saw movies! tarantino is my all time favorite film maker, at least rob chooses to steal from the best! and i digg it!
haha, i love when people try to put robs movies down because he doesnt use sophisticated language and likes the southern theme of movies. Im a true fan so i know ill enjoy it.
Alright, so it's not about a wrestler.. which is probably good since El Superbeasto is already about one. And yes, it's a total joke when people shit on his movies and use the reasoning that it's "white trash". God forbid some movies aren't about city folk and folks from the suburbs. Truth is, the city and suburbs will never be as frightening as southerners... and those types, haha.
