Over the past few weeks MTV and Bloody-Digusting have been shooting casting names back and forth for Catherine Hardwicke's teen-vampire adaptation, Twilight, which begins shooting later this month in Canada. Today THR confirmed various reports ad added a few names to the list. Read on for the details.

Summit Entertainment has set its ensemble cast for "Twilight," the vampire genre-bender that is one of the biggest bets for the nascent studio.

Peter Facinelli ("Riding In Cars with Boys," "Damages"), Elizabeth Reaser ("The Family Stone") and Jackson Rathbone ("The O.C") have been cast as vampires opposite the two main characters. Nikki Reed ("Lords of Dogtown") Ashley Greene ("Shark") and Kellan Lutz ("The Comeback") have also joined the cast. All will play vampires in the movie's Cullen family.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart had previously been cast as the two leads in the film.

"Twilight," a vampire tale that also contains strong elements of a high-school romance, tells the story of a girl (Stewart) who moves to a small town in Washington state to live with her father and is drawn to a mysterious classmate named Edward Cullen (Pattinson) who turns out to be a vampire. She then encounters the entire Cullen family, all of whom are creatures of the night.

Catherine Hardwicke will direct based on a script by Melissa Rosenberg. The project, based on the first installment of Stephenie Meyer's popular young-adult series, is a potential franchise for Summit, which has all underlying rights to the characters for potential sequels. The movie is scheduled to go into production this month and wrap ahead of a potential actor's strike.

Summit is on board to release a number of projects in 2008, including acquired film "The Brothers Bloom" and youth-themed mixed-martial arts movie 'Never Back Down.'"

"Twilight" is set for late 2008 and, with its potential for sequels, is one of the biggest projects for the young label.
