Just weeks away from film, Vincent Gallo tells the NY Daily News that he's trying to get out of starring in Dario Argento's next feature film, Giallo, because they cast Argento's daughter Asia. "After they cast [former fiancee] Asia Argento, I've been trying to get out of it," Gallo told The News' Patrick Huguenin at Sunday's Adidas Y-3 show. Never mind that her dad, Dario Argento, is the director. "I'd rather not be in a movie with her," Gallo said. "I'm not a fan. I was a fan of her father's. I'm retiring." The film will tell the story of a serial murderer (played by Gallo) with a taste for attractive women, who is being chased by a solitary detective (Liotta).
This does not surprise me in the slightest. he does the crap all the time. Gallo seems more interested in his tormented loverboy/sensitive asshole image rather than being a professional (or appearing in a movie people might..you know...SEE). Dude...you're pushing 50. grow the fuck up. drop the jilted teenage lover nonsense already and be an actor. you have demons? work through them...use them. i can't imagine a better source of catharsis than playing a murderer in a Dario Argento movie....especially if one of your "victims" is the being played by the girl who broke your heart. that's just me, though.
What an asshole. If you have a problem with your fellow castmate, take it up with them. Don't go bitching to the press.
