AICN broke the news this evening of who will bark at the moon for Universal Pictures. Joe Johnston - art director on Empire Strikes Back, Raider of the lost Ark and Return of the Jedi. And the director of Honey I Shrunk the Kids, The Rocketeer, Jumanji and Jurassic Park III - has been tapped to helm The Wolf Man remake, which fell onto a heap of trouble when Mark Romanek unexpectedly quit. Is this good news? It's better than Ratner, but I'm still pretty bummed that Romanek left. My interest in this project has already hit rock bottom, it can only get better.
I'm not gonna bitch about the director choice. Johnston's a great choice and it probably means the film's gonna have a great, stylized look.

What I am gonna bitch about is "but I'm still pretty bummed that Romanek left. My interest in this project has already hit rock bottom, it can only get better." This isn't reporting, it's blogging. The more I really read the stuff on this front page the more I think this site is nothing more than a coupla whiny fanboys ' opinions.

#1 source for horror? Oh yeah, I noticed that little claim disappeared with the redesign, too.
I like the directorial choice, but I don't like what Uni's trying to pull here. I know they're gonna try and make it PG-13 which would be utter bullshit. If they have to make it PG-13, atleast make R rated scenes for an unrated DVD or by the time it's released Blu-Ray( yep Uni's gonna break soon enough and convert to the Blu ).
Finally somebody is remaking the Wolf Man. It's amazing we have had to wait since the 1940's to get another movie with Werewolves in it. Do you smell that - that's sarcasm. How many freakin' hairy bastard movies can they make? How about just one Creature From the Black Lagoon remake. Where's the love for the Gill Man? They should do a movie where the Wolf Man gets AIDS. At least it would show some degree of originality.
well this sucks that romanek didnt come back the last minute but at least that little fairy ratner isn't on board
