B-D Review: Lionsgate's 'The Eye' a Solid Remake

Today I posted my official review for Lionsgate's remake of The Eye, which is now in theaters everywhere. "I know everyone’s always knocking remakes, but seriously, I look at is as this film was made for those people who would not venture out to find the original and watch it. THE EYE remake is for those people who don’t even know JIAN GUI exists… and on that note it’s a successful film. Lionsgate has delivered a solid PG-13 horror film that’s both entertaining and suspenseful… and for those of you who don’t like it, there will be more SAW on October 24." I will rent it when it comes out on dvd, but I wont waste $8 bucks to see it. Jessica Alba is smokin hot, but from the trailer I've seen, it looks like alot of things we've seen over and over again. I have not seen the original Japanese version, but I'm sure it's better. As for SAW V, please, no more. I just saw part 4 and the formula is getting tired and weak. The killings are still creative to watch, but the plot is getting ridiculous in my opinion. But something tells me were probably going to see even more sequels to the franchise ala Halloween, Elm Street, Friday the 13th. After the originals, we all know how must of those rate.

I'll see it, because I love the original and Jessica Alba is smokin hot.

Just another text book play from Hollywood ripping off other movies that they know the new MTV crowd wouldn't of seen because they're too lazy to read subtitles (and for any other remakes' sakes it's because they think movies in the 80s are too old). Hollywood's done for taking risks, especially in the horror department.
