Bloody-Disgusting has learned exclusively this evening that Patrick Lussier (Dracula 2000, White Noise 2) has been tapped to helm the remake of My Bloody Valentine for Lionsgate. Based on the 1981 film written by John Beaird and John Dunning, we've also been informed that the screenplay was written by Zane Smith. Here's the logline for you to chew on: Ten years ago the sleepy town of Harmony, Montana was the setting for a series of grisly murders on Valentine's night. Now, it seems the killer is back...or is he? Shooting begins late March/early April in Pittsburgh, PA.
The original was pretty awesome.
Canadian Slashers are the best(Black Christmas,Prom Night,My Bloody Valentine) The original took place in Nova Scotia, gold.
I have a soft spot for the original because it was shot in my hometown so I really hope they don't screw it up. It's just too bad that they aren't keeping the cheesey town name.
OMG, Suk_a_fuk (it hurt me to type that, LOL), I live not far from where it was filmed, here in Nova Scotia. It seriously sucks they aren't filming it here again though...
This movie is more than likely, hate to jinx it but probobly gonna be the best remake of the recent. The original was awsome. If they do this right its gonna make millions. Maybe more than the Halloween remake.
I was just talking about the original the other night with one of my friends. Having watched WN2 recently, it just might turn out to be a decent remake with Lussier at the helm.
Not a huge fan of remakes but wouldn't it be nice if we could actually get to see a version of the original released uncut!!!!!! And with paramount with the rights that just ain't gonna happen!!!!
the base camp for the filming was about 4 miles from my house.
