'Hellraiser' Delayed Why? New Writer(s) Sought...

It's time to give the Weinstein brothers some props... I've always felt that there was a lack of heart and a lack of caring about the development of films over at Dimension. Obviously making money is their number one priority, but it's nice to hear that they're not just trying to push out product without cleaning it thoroughly. I received a call this morning in response to our news that Dimension had delayed the release of their Hellraiser remake until 2009. Apparently they weren't 100% happy with Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury's screenplay and have decided to take the film to other writer(s) - so we're now back at square one. The French duo are still attached to helm the pic, which is great news for anyone who has seen Inside, one of my all-time favorite horror films. But like I said, it's nice to see the Weinsteins concerned about the quality of our beloved franchise. Mucho props! Until 2009...

This is better than good news, this is great news. I'm glad that after all the mistreatment the series has gotten, they finally want to churn out something well made.

This is terrible news. Their screenplay probably didn't have enough pointless shit in it to cater to the idiots. Hence why it's going to other writers. Integrity my ass, they probably ran the numbers and discovered they could make an addtional 5 million on opening weekend if it had a scene where Pinhead kills a hot topic clerk.

yeah, I can't believe I read something like that in BD... I mean, you guys are being ironic, right? how can someone be so naive as to think dimension dropped the screenplay becasue it wasn't very good?! oh my god, Inside is awesome because of the stuff the guys came up with... not because it was incredibly well directed... so after clive barker says "oh... this french duo...they're fucking cool, they have a fuckin good idea" , now dimension is doing a wonderful thing by dropping that fucking (and surely adult, violent, brutal) great idea? sure, they're concerned, they care... what? I can't believe I've read that in BD... one point less for you guys...now let's pray those directors come up with something original on their own after hellraiser, or else they're doomed like alexandre aja (3 remakes in a row!), the guys from Ils and so on... so cool the industry these days huh? and whats wrong with BD? good news? some big friggin irony.

Zombie Hell... dramatic?! I'm pissed of, that is :P Man, it's getting to a ridiculous point... Dimension hired people with a stron vision, they were impressed and everything, now they want the guys to direct a movie written by... Dimension, might as well give up on their directing too, do like platinum dunes, don't pretend you care about the art and ideas, have a bunch of music videos directors to turn the studio concept into reality just like you want... why hire just because you can, just for fashion? that's so dumb, if you won't even use their potential and strong points. They want a worker to get a job done, nothing related to art or vision. The guys won't say no because they're not crazy... and the fans can go to hell. Again, B-D, are u crazy guys?! I know we must respect an opinion, but, seriously?

They should scrap this idea will they have the chance....if they want so much to remake those horror movies, Heres a bright idea why dont they restore the original and re-released them in Theathers, i just saved them a couples of millions that they could invest on creating something new and maybe future classic movie.

i think this is bad news...i seriously wouldn't be surprised if they tried to make the film PG-13, look at all weinsteins Rated R horror bombs...i think MANDY LANE could have been a hit for them if they promoted it right, but they dropped that movie, oh well when it opens with alot of money the weinsteins will be crying terribly....they can kiss my ass.

Hellraiser... This is such a bummer. Hellraiser is an abused franchise... The original 3 hellraiser films were GREAT films. From there on they sucked DICK. Pinhead in space lol, that was horrible. Need i say more about where these films went after part 4. CRAP! and to re-release the first film in a re-stored vision is also retarded. I simply want to see pinhead back in action at his best, not just popping in when someone needs to be killed. Pinhead has become more of a cameo role. which is a fucking disgrace to the hellraiser films. Shit on hollywood i say!

How is this a sign of "quality" on the part of Bob and Harvey? How do you know that the script isn't brilliant, and that the two didn't think it could make money, so now they're shopping it to other writers who will dumb it down? That's what it sounds like is going on to me.

All Hellraiser fans should be happy this new film is being made.Dimension films have always been willing to add more films to each franchise they have. They keep pinhead, michael myers, children of the corn,The Crow alive. All hardcore fans should be greatful, because each film costs money and Dimension are the one's who take the risk.I want to say thankyou for making so many great Horror films for us all to enjoy.

THIS IS FUCKING HORRIBLE NEWS!!! Are you kidding me??? These are the guys those two rich fat fuckes hired??? I hope Barker throws a fit and prevents this from happening (under these two writers). Great. I'm gonna throw up now. By the way...Feast was a piece of garbage and SAW 4...lmao...don't get me started. This is a sad day for horror fans.
