We broke the news back in June that Lionsgate would be remaking the '80s classic horror film My Bloody Valentine, but no other details had been revealed to us. Today Lionsgate announced that they plan on getting the film in theaters February 13, 2009, just in time for Valentine's Day. In the original a decades old folk tale surrounding a deranged murderer killing those who celebrate Valentine's Day, turns out to be true to legend when a group defies the killer's order and people start turning up dead.
I'd be happy if they stopped remaking classic horror movies and turning them into shit. My love for horror movies weakens every time I hear or see the work remake.
While I loved the original, I'm looking forward to the remake and I hope it's done well.
Hopefully we'll get a uncut version of the original released on DVD around the time the remake is released. I'd buy it!
The original is great, a classic of the early 80's slasher genre. I hope they keep the plot and story the same. Maybe even keep the year 80 / 81 the same. Remakes are a touchy subject, but I really hate it when they remake something and dont pay homage to the original at all and rework the entire story, only keeping the title the same. That's lame. I'll cross my fingers for this one.
the orig is great.. this may be ok since lions gate is doing it.. im sure it will get the R raiting it needs. it this is a pg-13 pile of crap i will be so pissed
mfcmk you are beating a dead horse. Its been beaten shit less...so shut up. Its an old argument, come up with something new to bitch about.
Soooo is this hitting theatre? If so, it will probably be limited theatre release.
I hope its not pg-13 or dtv because I love the original.
The last time we were given a remake of a Canadian horror flick we ended up with "Black X-Mas"... let's hope that doesn't happen with My Bloody Valentine.
