Paramount Pictures informed us that they won't be releasing any clips from Cloverfield, but they did supply us with several TV Spots, which all feature different footage from the film hitting theaters this Friday. Just head on over to BDTV to check them all out for the first time ever online. Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.
original??? this movie is far from original! how many movies are there where some monster goes ape shit and destroys a city?... hmm 100's of them.. lol.. but none the less im really pumped for this movie! It's going to be record breaking! That much i know
hmm yeah godzilla was definitely made 100 times and all hollywood does is come out with monster movies where he trashes the city and shit. Oh yeah, its been done SOO many times hasn't it?
A movie shown from personal viewpoints on hand-cameras may not be ORIGINAL in every sense of the word, but it certainly tarnishes whatever other bullshit hollywood put out
cloverfeild is the american godzilla> im hearing the damn japanese were drilling in the alantic and i dont know further then that but u can imagined what they hit your not going to see the whole monster til the end. it will either die and youll see it lying in the street or jj abrams will leave a shitty ending
No need to get defensive. Let's just not call giant monster movies or the destruction of New York original. With that said, it doesn't make me any less excited about this.
I agree with Static. They've overhyped this. I'm so sick of "the big secret" that unless Great Cthulhu himself plops down onto Manhattan waggling his giant cock, I couldn't possibly be impressed.
Ugh. Enough of the slick PR bullshit making us do their work. Fuck this movie and fuck them.
I'm very excited about this movie. It's fun to be completely in the dark about a movie, and JJ Abrams is more than capable of delivering a quality product. I'm glad BD is keeping this film on the burner. I can't wait to see it.
this movie was the most original because the camera views/angles/the way it was created, and the story behind the monster. was there any godzilla ever based off a recorded video? i don't think so; not to mention all the godzillas were horribly fake looking and made me feel like an idiot when i saw them; no good. as to where cloverfield actually made me feel scared, upset, and really drawn into it; it's a lot different.
This is how an that piece of shit American Godzilla movies should of been....not with all the crazy home video cameras, but they should of at least tried to maje it scary...even if the fact that its shot through a first person perspective is mainly what makes Cloverfield scary...still...trying to tell me we couldn't cook up anything scarier then a giant fucking Iguana?
