The Greatest Toy Ever? I Think So! NECA Brings Us ALIEN!

Oh my freaking God!! We just received this announcement for what will be probably my favorite action figure of all time. In 1979, audiences were terrified by Ridley Scott's genre-redefining science fiction masterpiece: Alien. In 2008, fans finally get what they've been waiting for: an Alien 18" Action Figure from NECA! Captured in painstaking detail, the Alien hits shelves this spring. What makes this figure so special is the design includes the "human-esque" skull in the shell of the Alien's head, which was only used for this film. Read on for your first look at this mouth-watering figure and check this spot for more news as it comes in.

Yay! This looks fairly close to the Kenner 18" ALIEN figure that came out in 1976. My Uncle bought it for me for xmas...I LOVED IT so much! The skull glowed in the dark...you pulled a trigger under the back side of it's head, and it's mouth opened and the silver jaws popped out. My dad hated that movie so much. He went into the living room one night, I had left the ALIEN figure in the middle of the room...my dad came around the corner and saw it standing there and glowing...freaked his ass out! He secretly threw it away the next day! I miss that toy so much! I really hope this is extremely close to the KENNER figure...it would make me so happy in a nostalgic way!!!!

Greatest toy ever??? I think not, personally i'm quite sick of hearing about these bloody things, I thought it was enough when McFarland killed Movie Maniacs by making the last 3 series Alien vs. Predator, we don't need any more!!! PLEASE STOP!!!

I have one of the original Kenner toys, and this looks remarkably similar. That's not a bad thing. They made a GI Joe scale Alien and Hicks a few years ago too, but those were severely lacking in detail and quality.

Yeah, that is pretty damn cool, especially from the waist up. I always thought the design of the legs was a tad dainty on the Aliens but then again, who am I to criticize H.R. Giger??
