Today director Darren Lynn Bousman updated his Myspace blog with an update on his insane project, Repo! The Genetic Opera (trailer), which will hit theaters this spring from Lionsgate. Inside you can read about the daunting task and how he's almost ready to show the film to the studio heads (yikes!) In the not-so-distant future when an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet, scientists gear for a massive organ harvest. A biotech giant comes up with easy organ payment plans, but all financed organs are subject to legal default, including repossession at the hands of repo men.

Hey all!!! Long time no talk!!! It has been all sorts of crazy... But long story short - I have been spending every waking minute on REPO... This is by far the most complex thing I have ever done - but also the most rewarding... Every day I come to edit room - I am reminded how cool and different this project is... It truly is the most original thing I have ever been involved with...
Next week I have to show the movie to the all the STUDIO HEADS - - I pray to GOD they get this movie - because it truly is out there... It seems a lot of movies these days are cookie cutter - and 'the same'. There is a reason for that... Because they are a proven formula... Aint nothing formulaic about this movie...
This morning I woke up and saw that ARROW IN THE HEAD listed us as the number 1 most anticipated horror film of '08. I was so taken aback - at times I think no one has even heard of REPO - then I see this - and I flip out...
So start spreading the word now - - tell your friends... Fuck - call the studio and tell them how excited you are... It's time for something different - and this is it!

I gotta say i HATE lionsgate with ALL MY HEART. any you wanna know why? Because they are completly ignoring that Chris Moore movie, when the friends have to kill eachother, and that has been finished for like 2 years. And from what i heard it's AMAZING! I also saw some exclusive pics, that contained spoilers, and it looks really gory and cool...also has a GREAT twist,t hat i think people won't see coming.
I live in a small town that is highly unlikely to get this film at all in our pathetic little cinema. Therefore, I am taking time off work to go into the city when it is released! I honestly cannot wait!
I can... i got better things to do then watch a piece of DLB's crap! he destoryed saw 4! fuckhead... saw 2 and 3 were magnificent! then he just got dumb... so anything after saw 4 to me is just another piece of his bullshit shit career!
I'm looking forward to this, and that doesn't happen often with musicals. I enjoyed Saw 2- 3 and would sooner blame the screenwriters for Saw 4, Bousman's scene transitions were the only good thing about that movie. And to his credit (or not) he only directed Saw 4 so Lionsgate would finance this movie.
Im not too sure about this and for one reason...fucking Paris Hilton. The story sounds interesting and I love that Ogre has a part of this, I will def. see it, I just hope I can ignore that dumb bitch.
