Freddy Returns to Springwood, Jason Not Involved
Friday, January 4, 2008

After the smashing success of Rob Zombie's Halloween remake, New Line Cinema jumped right back into developing their remake of Friday the 13th. In the other neck of the woods, over the past few years we've heard all sorts of stories regarding a possible Freddy vs Jason 2 (with Ash, Michael Myers or even Pinhead involved) and the next Nightmare on Elm Street (a prequel), but nothing ever came into fruition. Today Bloody-Disgusting scored some solid info from an insider at New Line about where the future of these franchises stand. Read on to see what's next. Will Jason Voorhees battle Freddy again or will Krueger return to Springwood? All will be revealed inside.

<------You want more Freddy? Digg me now!

This afternoon I got some official news from a source inside at New Line Cinema as to what exactly is going on with our favorite horror icons, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. Our anonymous source tells us that as of right now, today, this very moment there are NO immediate plans for Freddy vs Jason 2. Bummer. But there is some good news! We've been informed that New Line is actively developing another Nightmare on Elm Street movie. Everything you've heard before has been scrapped (prequel) and they're back at square one. Ideas are being thrown around without anything solid locked down. Expect some news on this later this year and until then we'll focus our attention on their remake of Friday the 13th. What do you guys want to see in the next Nightmare? Comment below and tell us, maybe you'll give New Line some ideas!

I wanna see Alice and Jacob from Nightmare 5 return, teaming with Katherine Krueger. I actually had an idea featuring a Nightmare film with all the survivors returning and watching them die off, that would be interesting.

I am happy as hell to hear this news. I wish they would have another Freddy vs Jason. But I hope down the line it will happen. I'm just glad that we can see another movie on the big screen with Freddy and another with Jason. I hope they calm down Freddy's one liners and make him scarier. I mean come on he's a damn child killer. I hope that they are good movies. But I know deep down I will enjoy the movie. Just too see both of them on the big screen is a big treat for me

I would totally love to see another nightmare movie but please, for the love of horror, kill the comedian shit. freddy's a sadistic dream demon not the fuckin joker. Make it super bloody and violent. Now i've developed a premise for another nigthmare film since after fvj came out and it has developed into quite some shit over time. If only new line would listen to meeeeeeee.

Well, let's face it people, we can pretty much guarantee that this won't feature a continuation of any of the characters from previous films, since they're a distant memory (or not even a memory) for average movie goers... it's been so long, most people forget what the last Nightmare movie was called, let alone what happened and who was in it... I think a fresh start is in order... they're remaking Friday the 13th, why not A Nightmare on Elm Street, and while they're at that, they can continue to make Freddy Vs. Jason movies on the side, in their own little world... that's be neat in my opinion...

as long as they don't recast freddy(sounds stupid for me to even mention that, but with movie studios today...), i'm all for another nightmare they need to use robert englund as much as possible for freddy before he gets TOO old

i agree with everyone on here, that freddy NEEDS to be scary again. reduce him to be more shadowed. and do away with the gimmicky kills. why wear the glove if your not gonna use it? slash a teens face, gouge his fucken eyes out!!!! make it hardcore horror!

11:17pm, January 4, 2008

Freddy needs to be scary again and he needs to be played by Robert. I wouldn't mind having the film more violent either. I don't want to see crap loads of CGI and I think it'd be nice to have a talented director who cares for the Nightmare films.

1)A return to the evil Freddy from 1-3,actually the character in part 2 was the best version of Freddy i.m.o even if the rest of the movie was bad. 2)A reboot/reimaging,not a remake i.e Halloween so characters & plot are new except Freddy and movie being set on Elm Street. 3)Don't have 16-18 y.o teens as the target victims,go with a group of Kids aged 8 - 12.More shocking and easier to root for . 4)Don't follow the old & tired NOES formula, have the story and dream sequences impaticular be much more original, complex & inventive-look to the likes of Jacob's Ladder.

Why the fuck would anyone want a prequel?? They explained everything previous to the first movie in FvJ... so there would be absolutely no point in a prequel

I'd also like to see a solid cast with good character preformances. The original nightmare house would be nice to see again...

11:37pm, January 4, 2008

I'd like to see more of a back story on freddy, i know we've seen it in freddy's dead, and f vs j, and so on and so on.. but I think it would make the film more realistic if they show freddy when he was the springwood slasher, and then show a bit of the trial and how freddy got off on a technicality, and then show the parents go all vigilanty and burn freddy.. and then get into the whole freddy dream deamon thing! I like how rob zombie did it in halloween.. I just hope this movie gets on the fast track to being made! im excited for friday the 13th aswell too!

11:43pm, January 4, 2008

I'd rather have two seperate movies than another fvj movie. I can't wait for a new Freddy movie, even though I loved the prequel idea. And I really do think they're gonna drop the comedy act. They did with New Nightmare and it's by far the best. It's what they obvz needs to do.

slapyou
11:48pm, January 4, 2008

We already have a full goddamn back story on Freddy. He was a sadistic child killer who got burned alive by angry parents and turned into a dream demon by the manifestations of the kids on Elm Street. How can you even turn that into a full movie? Making a movie about Freddy before he was a monster is not scar and almost uninteresting. If they're gonna do it, they need a NEW movie with new characters and a return to the NOES1 Freddy. I agree that they need to cut the lame stories and "comedic" one-liners. Scary, violent, and fresh.

I'd love to see a new movie featuring Alice and Jacob as well. Could have Alice returning to Springwood in the beginning, and being killed. Jacob, who's about 20 y/o now, and completely unaware of his past ties to Freddy, would follow to find out why she went, and the circumstances behind her strange death, and how it might all be tying in with the deaths of some locals. A dark mystery that fans could follow, as well as newbies!

Springwood is a ghost town, long since abandoned. Plans of building a highway are in play. A college fraternity brings a group of pledges to the town to spend the night in the Krueger house. They tell the pledges off the Krueger legend- They force them to consume sleeping pills, and leave. The following morning one of the pledges is found racing down the construction site for the highway near the town. She is covered in blood with slash marks all over her face. She babbles on about a Krueger, claiming that he found a way out. She dies off massive blood loss just before the EMT's arrive. Several years pass. The highway venture failed. The area in springwood were the houses were abandoned has now becomes a site for subsidized housing units for the poor. Kids start seeing a creepy looking man wandering the streets at night whistling a strange tune (Freddy Theme). No one takes these reports serious until a child goes missing and is subsequently found dead, mutilated, with signs of sexual battery, several days later. DNA sampled from under the fingernails are tested- The Database assess that the sampled belong to Freddy Charles Krueger. His grave is dug up the remains are missing. The media springs into action and invades the near desolate town. The attacks start almost immediately shortly after midnight. Think cloverfield and blair witch. We are getting a documentary in action, as it goes down. On and off camera. No one is safe. Especially the children...

I would love to see another installment. I've been dying to see another stand-alone Krueger film for ages. And to think we haven't seen an actual one since before A New Nightmare!! And plus with all these remakes, and prequels, even though they all started popping up because creativity was bleeding out from the horror industry (no pun intended), but to think that making a new, scarier, innovative sequel will, in actuality, kinda be breaking the mold in a way! I'm so happy, first the Friday remake is rollin' along again, and now this! I can't wait to see Freddy on the big screen again!!!

A new child moves into freddy's house, but at school she has a horrible life, teased, tormented and driven thru hell by her peers, so she summons freddy... but before he kills her they do a deal... she stays alive as she can provide other elm street children for him... until she gets the grasp of freddy's power and wants more and more of it for herself... so she starts collecting of her own children! and when freddy dies, she will carry on his work... and everyone will think he is still doing the killing... when its in fact her... and ye... big whooha battle!

also... i was just wondering... i think it's a good idea that they arn't making a freddy vs jason 2, i mean how can they? jasons back home... freddy's dead again and weak, and freddy's not gonan make jason come back a second time if he knows he can't kill him... the only thing they could do is make it like no one's visiting jasons camp... so jason isn't waking up and he's staying freddy's dreams so he has to get pinhead, ash, michael ect to try finish him or sum shit! so ye... i reckon it's good where ti ended... because i can;t seriously say theres another way to get the two to fight again!

I want to see a freddy movie like the original ones where it was scary. Nowadays most horror movies are just a bunch of teens having sex then someone gets killed. I want to see this movie go back to it's roots and not just some be a dumb horror flick. There are very few slasher flicks these days that really keep you interested. so i would appreciate it if they would make this movie more story driven and horror driven. Then turning it into a teen orgy slasher flick.

Have Freddy be in a real comma all this time after all the parents tried to kill him,but failed.... And when Freddy was in the comma,he dreamed he was a dream demon of some kind continuing to kill more kids.... Then Freddy wakes up,and he still looks like burned up Freddy, but now he is human(he can get hurt),and the movie is more of a slasher type movie instead of a dream world Freddy.

8:51am, January 5, 2008

Zombie, what are you talking about son? That is not what horror is about & what you're saying is also the 80's. There's more T&A in 80's movies then the 90's/00 flicks combined. Krueger DOES need to go back to that N1/N2 attitude & keep him in the shadows like b4. FvJ failed to capture that. Fred was gone all that time & he comes back to crack jokes? Lol...get real. Had anyone notice there was not ONE kill by the infamous glove in that movie? Oh my bad, we saw an invisible scratch to the face. Lol... '00 era is a joke.

9:53am, January 5, 2008

a prequel would be entertaining, but not necessary. A remake... why? The first nightmare on elm street is scary and a classic, I think the true NOES fans like myself want a true to the series dark, scary, violent sequel! The studio will more than likely try to reboot the franchise with a remake to introduce freddy to a new generation of movie goers. If i'm right which I will be, please make it scary and not pg13.

would rather have Jason in it but the return of any horror icon is ok in my books and i like freddy being a joker it makes the movie fun they could try all they want to make it scary but face no one is gonna be scared we go to these movies for the fun and creative death scenes

10:58am, January 5, 2008

I'd love to see this movie take on a VERY dark role. If you remember the way Freddy was played in the first and second movies, you'll remember he was a scary and dark figure. These days, the films are tame, in graphic content AND in the way they're shot. I'd like to see the movie shot in super high quality, with a very stylised look. Dark, moody... really jumpy. Fred Krueger shouldn't have an updated glove. The first film's glove is perfect. Simple, deadly. Evil. Fred should NEVER crack one liners. He shouldn't laugh like a kid, or play silly games. He should kill the kids in brutal ways, and build every kill up so the viewer absolutely craps themselves. Freddy, as a horror icon, deserves this kind of movie.

If it was me I would do a SEQUEL that has a very pissed off Freddy (as a result of losing against Jason and Lori). Also only have one or two moments of dark humour from Freddy but only have them in the style of the original- like when he cuts his fingers off, or imitates Tina at the door. A detailed flashback of Nightmare 4 and 5 to explain who Alice is with narration from either Alice or Jacob(Like the beginning of Terminator 3). Alice dies. Then the character of Jacob thinks he can bring his friends into the dream for help but he FAILS and is left alone to face Freddy. I would make the dreams very scary -less reliant on special effects and more about darkness and not knowing what's round the corner to build up TENSION for a possible jump etc.. And think of a new way to kill Freddy off besides bringing him out of thats been done to death.

biledemon3
12:33pm, January 5, 2008

Make Nightmare on Elm street Scary again. Scrap the comedy crap. Bring freddy back to his roots of brutal killings and no mercy. A demon in the minds of those who know and fear his name. Freddy is an icon of fear. bring this fear back dammit!

nacjr777

I would like to see the Next Nightmare scarier. Similar to the remake of Halloween done by Rob Zombie. I would like to see Alice return also, either as Freddy's Dad again or in a new role. Fear is the key word.

I dont think it would be the smartest move for new line to bring characters back from previous sequels. And for the reason that todays audiences arnt familiar with the sequels that appeared back in the 80's mostly just with the first film. Audiences would be lost and the film could flop.

Springwood has been a ghost town for a while in the series- if you choose to remain somewhat true to the events in Freddy's Dead. It makes sense that the towns property would be put to use. The highway aspect was in effect, but ultimately failed. Freddy was let out of the dreamworld. It very well could have been Sabotaged by him he could have destroyed the equipment yada, yada ya, ya. The contract for the highway goes sour, and Someone else buys up the property and turns it into housing for the poor- not that hard to believe at all. As far as Krueger becoming a Legend. Who says that you have to stick to the other films. After all he became a joke after 3. Time to rosin up the bow, and get away from the campy crap. Too me he wasn't a menace in the dreamworld. That aspect became the campest of all. Nancy pulled him out, so why not do that again, but lets examine this for a second. Who does Freddy really like prey upon. Kids! Sure they are teens in the previous films. I think it's high time it became much younger prey. It would help to really amp up the scare factor, Freddy is out trapped in Springwood. He's out but he's not free. He waited for the children he set it up hoping they would return once more. Think of him as a force that is unleashed into the town of Springwood when people sleep, but he isn't in their dreams, thats not how it works. They release him. No more souls for more power- that wasn't Craven anyways! No more camp! He's free to roam open in Springwood so long as someone sleeps in darkness. Kind of a twist on the legend, a change to make him more involved. From here I imagine the best way too do it, is to not make central characters that we remain glued to for the entire film. Do a Whole CSI/Media convergence upon thew town. You have several groups rambo'ing it out. The poverty stricken inhabitants running around with weapons hoping to find the man behind the attack. Several media syndicates wandering around trying to sensationalize the story too pull in more viewers. A group of investigators, including the FBI trying to solve the crime, Rented out police, since the town doesn't have a police force anymore. And suddenly at night time when heads lay down and go to sleep. Freddy materializes and he goes on a killing spree in the town. We suddenly get the feeling that maybe he was waiting for all too come too let the world know of him that it somehow may release him completely onto the world. Now we are racing all over the place trying to catch him. You only see him in shadows, beat for beat, scene for scene- he finds another victim, and it doesn't matter if they are asleep or awake. The media, the investigators, the police hired to patrol the town, and the towns folk are all going nuts in the process. Is it really Frederick Charles Krueger? Or is it a copycat. Don't know

What I don't want to see is a Jason Goes To Hell type deal where the entire world knows of his existence. I don't want to see dream worms or dream warriors. if its a prequle, you guy know one of the greatest things about freddy will be gone right; the possiblity of doing what ever. He will be reduced to his glove and then its just a jason type charecter. Plus he'll be killing small children and that not coll. Maybe it could the focused on the trial, but then its is just a court room movie, like emily rose is. But hey i dont make them i watch'em-- not yet at least

How about a Freddy that isn't burned at all,but is a janitor at a school, and the teachers, students, his lanlord, neighbors, etc. give him a hard time....But he gets them in their dreams, because he has a power (maybe from being a satanist)where he can enter people's dreams and then becomes the demon burned looking Freddy....And the people of the town are scared because of all the people who are dying, and the cops can't find any clues, since there aren't none at any of the crime scenes....

Here's an idea. How about no sequels, prequels, re-imaginings..etc? How about leaving the franchise alone? It severed it's purpose. Even if they by some miracle made a decent movie it's still a Freddy movie. It's nothing new. Leave all these movies alone and make something new. That sounds like a better idea if you ask me.

"Here's an idea. How about no sequels, prequels, re-imaginings..etc? How about leaving the franchise alone?" I'd have to agree. As much as I would like to see another Freddy with the feel of the first film, I think some series go too far and need to be retired.

How's this. Prequel/Sequel Re-imaging all in one. ROBERT STAYS! Set in the present a young teen man (let's call him Derek) who terrorizes animals and bullies small children gets a visit from Freddy in his dreams. Freddy wants to recruit this guy much like he did Jesse in NOES2. Instead of being all pussy like our NOES2 hero, Derek goes bad ass on Freddy and literally tears his skull open and enters his mind. (Don't worry about Derek being a jerk here, his character grows and he will become a likable hero.) Here we enter prequel territory and get to witness Freddy as the child killer pre-burn. Something we have very rarely seen properly throughout the franchise. Derek and pre-burn Freddy fight it out and eventually Derek wakes up bleeding after he takes a nasty blow. Confused and bewildered we quickly scamper through the obligatory exposition as Derek learns the truth about Freddy's history. Next time Derek sleeps and Freddy visits he wastes no time in forcing himself inside Freddy's brain again. Here we enter re-imagining territory. Recreating one of the scenes from NOES1 we see the scene shot for shot up until Derek interrupts Freddy during the kill. Using Rod's hanging as an example, Rod would not die quickly as Freddy would be both fighting Derek off as he tries to hang and kill Rod. Derek fails in saving Rod and as we see him choke and die Derek wakes and realizes what he must do. Derek now sees the error of his ways and assumes the position of saving the lives of people killed in previous Elm St. Films. At least two more recreations of famous NOES kills should be played out here as Derek fights Freddy while he kills these previous victims. A couple of scenes that could be fun to recreate are Phillip as the puppet in NOES3 and stuffing Greta with food from NOES 5 (remember I’m trying to span a good distance the films). By approaching these scenes it may be fun to also recreate the different styles of make-up Freddy has worn over the years. Of course all lore remains in tact as Derek never succeeds in stopping any of these kills. Now we reach sequel territory and Freddy is pissed and bad ass, I suggest keeping the look Freddy had in FvJ. Sick and tired of this screwy punk Derek, Freddy very quickly offs his closest friends and family. No fooling about here, Freddy is pissed and goes straight for the glove kill each time. This leaves us with an all out climax/conclusion where Freddy is almost frenzied and unstoppable after so many quick kills fighting against an emotional and furious Derek who has just lost his friends and family. Shit: I wish I had a solicitor so I could send this direct to New Line!

I don't care... just as long as my man englund is back thats all I care about... but it would be sick if they stick with freddy, and he's still trapped in our world. and the only way he can get back to his is to kill the only one he knows about his daughter who is played by w/e actress, and he does and he goes and kills off clebs who fucked up like brittney and all those other whores. and then he works on killing country singers and then those shitty reality shows and then he kills off last but now least all those fuckin teeny boopers.. yup...

Freddy will never ever be scary he's too big of a horror icon everyone knows him and what he does so i dont think it is possible to get scared from a movie he is in. i say just enjoy the movie for what it is and stop hoping its gonna be something else or you will be disappointed when you see it

personally I think they should either make a prequel (but more like a sort of CSI movie set in the 70s/80s) or leave him alone. New nightmare was a perfect ending for the series (ok FvsJ was fun but I see that as a separate entity). and maybe they could save some money for something original instead of another remake that will only make fans feel miserable.

Bring back Nancy! They can also bring back Alice too and follow the "Beautiful Dream" story. That would be the best way to end the Nightmare series. This is the Nightmare movie I crave for- Not a remake, or a pointless sequel, or another v.s.Jason movie, or even a prequel. I want a be all, end all Nightmare movie, if not then New Nightmare should be the bookend to the franchise.

wow, a LOT of comments already which is cool, im glad most people still dig Freddy. I also agree with making him scarier, more evil. Perhaps taking a look at the new Joker in The Dark Knight vS the Joker in Batman & Batman Returns would be a good way of balancing the best features of Freddy: keep his sinister sense of humor but don't make him out to be a comedian, no way. Also make him look freshly burned as he was in the first Nightmare film and not the rubbery look of most of the sequels and most definitely DO NOT make a New Nightmare type of film, it was a cool film back then but we need a 100% Nightmare On Elm Street movie. Please have Wes Craven work on it and if possible have him direct it as well and not just the script (The Hills Have Eyes wasnt all that good IMO). Also i do not want to see a prequel nor a remake, i just want Freddy Krueger the dream demon coming back, get some new residents over Elm Street which might be linked to previous survivors (their children or grandchildren)And please NEW LINE TAKE THIS FILM SERIOUSLY!Don't treat it as just another milking cow, this is the serious that MADE you guys so show respect to it and the fans

My opinion is NO continuation to the franchise. Like HALLOWEEN, I think a prequel would be the best way to go. Explore Freddy's orgins and show how he became what he is. That could be interesting. The NIGHTMARE sequels were alot like the HALLOWEEN sequels in the 80's. NOT GOOD. The original was scary and intense. Freddy became too much of a comedian and totally lost his edge as the series dragged on. I like the idea of re-inventing like they are doing with FRIDAY. Start with something fresh instead of these classic horror figures being shot, stabbed, burned, whatever a million times and coming back to life over and over. It's just not believable and just not scary. No offense to fans of the franchise, it's just my opinion.

Well personally i think a completely fresh start has the potential to go spectacularly wrong I.E FREDDY'S DEAD, which was just awful. The choice was made not to continue with the story of Alice, Yvonne and Jacob and instead was swapped for new characters, BIG MISTAKE! I had a story in mind that returned Freddy to the shadows and involved the return of the survivors. The story had Freddy in limbo, he's tired, he's sick of the chase, he's done what he set out to do....

So now he wants to move on, end his existence, but he can't do that until he has claimed the one's who got away, Jesse, Lisa, Dr.Gordon, Alice, Yvonne, Katherine etc. Nightmares between those characters bring them all back to springwood for the final fight. By this time, Freddy is completely sadistic even by his own standards and will stop at nothing to finish the job. CUE sum seriously nasty deaths, beatings, nightmares. Just totally savage, raw, unflinching brutality.

To put it simple, HE WANTS OUT! That's it, he's had enough of the game. So he returns to his shadowy, horrifying malevolence that we saw in the first Elm Street. He's lost his sense of humour and wants these people dead. Fuck anybody else, if they get caught in the crossfire TOUGH SHIT, he's zero'd in on the survivors and he just wants THEM!

Discord, he alway had a sense of humour. Its just that in the first he olny wanted to make him self laugh, then in the sequles he want to make the audience laugh which made he like not scary at all. Yea i am with some of these guys, we need new shit. We want to have classic shit from this decade for like 2020 or 2030, not the 80's redone

Nightmare has been my fav horror movie since i was a child and this is one movie that SHoULD NoT BE REMADE!, preqeul maybe, i would love to see another sequel, but if new line EVER! tryed to do a nightmare movie without robert englund i would have to say all the real nightmare fans wouldent more or less waste there time with the film rob makes freddy and thats all there is to it.

Freddy must keep his humor because it's what makes Freddy who he is. He's a crazy psychotic killer, so the humor always matched up with him. If needed just reduce the humor a bit. Instead of just teenagers have a couple of children involved as well like FVJ showed. Use ideas from part 2 where he was able to possess his victim to do as he pleased, but have him do it to more people. Englund must play Freddy as usual. Bring back at least 2 past characters that survived aka Alice and Katherine Krueger plus more surreal dream sequences.

To add a little more fuel to the fire... I have been working on a screenplay for what would most likely play out as THE FINAL nightmare on elm street film. I had approached both Wes Craven and Robert Englund 2 years ago after reading through all of the original scripts and watching the films and the deleted scenes. And, came up with the situation of what if there was more to the Kartherine Krueger story that was never told... what if she has a childhood friend that lived next door to the kruegers and HE was the one who actually turned freddy in... and he was the same boy that was used as bait to lure freddy in to his firey death by the people of elm street. Only to move from springwood and the entire state... but after death came back to springwood years after Katherine thought she ended it... Katherine seeks out the person who truely made Freddy who he is... to finish the job once and for all. (this is played out as a prequal with flashbacks from throught the series with a climatic ending that picks up a few years after the vengeful battle between Freddy and Jason [who made them remember and brought Freddy back from Hell])

by the way... ironicaly... the screenplay is titled Return to Elm Street... and it does in fact tie up all the loose ends about Nancy's brother, Tina's sister, and Glen's sister as well... no one was safe... and when they found out Freddy was the one who did it all... it was time to make him pay (too bad Lt. Thompson didn't even bother to have the warant signed when they raided Krueger's home and took his daughter... if they had signed the warant he probably would have gotten life in prison... but no... he was burned and turned into the monster that has haunted america for 3 decades)

What if an incident brought freddy out into the real world and he was captured. Locked up. Studied. DDNA tests prove it's him but no one can explain it. he's huan now not some mystic dream force, and he's very angry. He manages too escape. Give Freddy his Alex Cross, his Sam Loomis= Case in point play it out very real. Don't really get to involved in the how he got out part- it could be the teens doing sleeping pills in his house "how brave are you" gag- but you need too leave that explaination very X-files in nature. Where it happens but it's explination is very open and not really told. He comes out kills the teens one escapes they contact the police Freddy is captured. Detained interviewed. They think it's a copycat of some sort- blood test are taken- can't do fingerprints the man was horribly burned. Test come back blood is a perfect match. Everyone is confused beyond belief. Freddy escapes and returns to what he does best. Killing. When interviewed he doesnt crack jokes he isn't about humor he is dark. Maybe he has control over things with his mind like he does in the dream world. Like we see glimpses of it- like they show him photos of children he killed and he gets mad and the lightbulbs in his room explode.

Man I've been hyped about a Freddy prequel or re start for years!!! Only thing is Robert Englund has to play Freddy Kruger! You can't ever re cast that role. Once Robert dies that will be the final death of the Freddy character. Robert Englund rules! heh 2001 Maniacs was the shit to!

Wow, more remakes or sequels. Just what we need. All the Nightmare and Friday movies were just the same stories warmed up over and over again. And Zombie showed that he had nothing new to tell with his movie. Halloween made some money, but eveyone I know who saw it thought it sucked. So they will get money from the horror fans hoping these new movies will be good, but come on guys, they will suck too. There's nothing new under the sun. It's all washed up!

As a huge Freddy fan all my life, why am I almost . . disappointed at this news? I don't want Freddy in the hands of today's "Rob Zombie's Crapoween" horror "filmmakers." Anyone want to bet this movie will have a shitload of that quick, stop-motion like video effect like in the Japanese horror remakes?

FVJ sucked... could of been the best film ever i reckon.... the acting was poor, the storyline rocked but like, the sotryline about laurie and stuff was just pathetic and... the props and makeup effects were just gay... everytime one was cut they'd just piss out blood lolz, wasn't even begining to look realistic, plus jason looked crap... and freddy was too... like happy? like he was just talking to the camera for attention lolz!

I thought FVJ was good though it could have been better. I still want them to do a FVJ2. I hope they don't mess up Freddy's character if it is a remake like how miramax fucked up Michael Myers in the Halloween shit-remake.

Robert Englund better be freddy I would be picketing this movie like people were picketing halloween if it isnt freddy. I happen to disagree about the caption on the frontpage jason unfortunatly isnt involved. I really think that this movie could be good again if they dont try and crossbreed it again. Enough of this real freddy crap ala new nightmare and freddy vs. jason. we need a real nightmare on elm street.
