Bloody-Disgusting learned this evening that Philip Seymour Hoffman (Red Dragon) and Viggo Mortensen (A History of Violence, The Road) are in talks to join the cast of Vanikoro, which was written and directed by Xavier Gens. Sure Gens' Hitman wasn't the best of films, but just wait until you see his French horror film Frontier(s)! The French explorer La Perouse, was wrecked on Vanikoro in 1788. The ship Boussole was destroyed on a reef along with most of the crew. The second ship Astrolabe was also wrecked, but survivors salvaged enough to build a small ship and sailed away. Two survivors remained on the island into the early 1800's. Head on over to BDTV to watch Gens talk about the film at this past year's Toronto International Film Festival.
