JJ Abrams Gives Homage to 'Host' Monster in 'Cloverfield'?

An interesting (and unconfirmed) rumor hit our inbox moments ago claiming that JJ Abrams is maniacally obsessed with Magnolia Pictures' Korean monster movie The Host and that there are a few homages to it in Paramount Pictures' Cloverfield, which was produced by Abrams. I wouldn't be shocked if this was true... maybe we'll ask him if he let's press interview him for the release? Directed by Matt Reeves, the monster movie hits theaters January 18. Click the title above for more info on the film, stills, trailers and more.

A bigger version of the host monster that would be insane but wouldn't fit the destruction we see in the trailers because you have to remember the host beast of 99% of it's screen time moved only on all fours and wasn't all that strong(or else it would have rammed through the trailer with the locked door on one side that the heroes unlocked after easily) so it couldn't have ripped the head off the statue of liberty (which is reinforced heavily on the inside)and thrown in into the middle of downtown

Seems like I'm the only one that hated the host. So this worries me a bit. I'll just have to wait for some reviews to get online.

The Host needed some more editing in my opinion some bits were like what ever, but the movie was awesome and refreshing.
