Date Changes: The Box, FD 4, Trailer Trash and Poughkeepsie Tapes
Posted: September 4, 2008 @ 8:24pm

Get ready for a slew of new release dates that just went out this afternoon. First, New Line Cinema has moved Final Destination 4 3D back a week to an August 21, 2009 release. Good news for you Richard Kelly fans out there as Warner Bros. Pictures has moved The Box - an adaptation of the short story "Button, Button" - from a September 11, 2009 release all the way up to March, 20, 2009 (finally one in our favor!). On to the bad news as MGM has removed the Dowdle brothers' The Poughkeepsie Tapes from their slate and will release on an undetermined 2009 date. Lastly, in an odd move, Eli Roth's Trailer TRash has been placed under N/A... has this project been cancelled? We'll find out more. Click any title above for more info on each film.

EXCLUSIVE Chucky Gets Re-Designed, Big Role For Dourif
Posted: September 4, 2008 @ 4:51pm

One franchise that appears to have been drilled in the ground is CHILD'S PLAY, which last saw Chucky on the big screen back in 2004 with the release of SEED OF CHUCKY. Nearly four years later, creator Don Mancini is hard at work penning the remake for the film (that he'll also direct), which kicked off back in 1988 with a killer who transfers his soul into the body of a Good Guy doll. We've broke a whole bunch of stories here on B-D, and today we had the chance to have a few more questions answered... like what will change in the remake, including Chucky's design. A Brief 'Ghostbusters 3' Update From Dan Ackroyd
Posted: September 4, 2008 @ 4:25pm

The long gestured GHOSTBUSTERS 3 is quickly becoming one of the most aggravating projects to follow on the Hollywood block. With franchises seemingly being the only real force in Tinseltown, it's shocking to me that the third film isn't already in production, or at least in heated talks. Rumors hit the web this summer at Comic Con - and then were squashed - that Apatow and Rogen would be joining the project, and there have still been rumblings about this HELLBENT CGI direct-to-disc release, but nothing has ever been officially announced. Today a blurb from "real" Ghostbuster Dan Ackroyd hit the web that carries a small glimpse of hope. Read on, watch, then speculate with the best of us... ...Read More

Lost Producer Takes a Trip to King's 'Dark Tower'
Posted: September 3, 2008 @ 11:19am

AMC discovered that "Star Trek" and "Lost" Producer Damon Lindelof is working on bringing Stephen King's DARK TOWER to life. "The Dark Tower is to me every bit as daunting an adaptation as the Lord of the Rings trilogy must have been for Peter Jackson, except we've got seven books we're looking at. And the idea of doing that at the same time Carlton and I are bringing Lost to a close is simply not viable. There are always Dark Tower conversations, but the figuring out of what this will look like as a movie has not begun. If The Dark Tower were in the right hands, I would love to see seven movies executed just right. But you have to get people to see the first one to get them to come and see the second one."
